anyone who knew karen huggins can tell you that karen was a really unique individual.i do not know that there are words to fully capture how incredible she was. she was one of a kind. in that sense, she was very much a san francisco creation. her passion, her intelligence, her commitment, her integrity were second to none. anyone who has followed what has been happening to public housing in san francisco over the last few years knows that the advances and achievements that holly courts as a community has been able to obtain the last few years have a lot to do with karen huggins. what she has single-handedly done for holly courts is beyond words. she was a tenacious advocate for the community,, and on a very personal level, to meet karen huggins was one of the most remarkable human beings that i have come across. it really is hard to imagine the world, to imagine san francisco without karen huggins . this city, this community will never be the same. i personally feel lucky and blessed that i got an opportunity to get to know karen, and i know as i look back at everythin
