here's karen loftus. let's get to some college basketball now, where 7th-ranked virginia was on the road at duke saturday. the cavaliers trying to snap a 21-year lose-streak at cameron indoor. uva riding a 7-game win-streak coming into their game against the unranked blue devils. let's get it gill, always putting- on a show. he throws it down between the defenders. then mike tobey coming- up big in the first half. he had 8 first half points-- both of these buckets part of 15-2 run, giving the cavs a 25-14 lead. going outside now, it's malcolm brogdon for three, helping keep the blue devils at an arms length. but duke's brandon ingram would pour in a game-high 25. the dunk helping duke cut the lead to three the second half, matt jones capping-off a 10-oh blue devil run with a big three. duke now in front, up 51-44. uva battles back though, down just one with 14 seconds to go. hard to see, but it's brogdon with the tough lay-in to give the hoos the 62-61 lead. duke with one last chance. grayson allen on the

karen loftus has more. the 2016 high school wrestling season is in the books, as the vhsl state championships wrapped-up saturday at the salem civic center for classes 1 through 4a. the third place matches were going-on earlier in the day with action on 4 classifications competing for titles. heading into the afternoon, the 1 and 2a titles were all but locked-up before the finals even started. in 1a rural retreat is your state champion with 227 points, beating-out rappahannock county who was the 1a runner-up with 105.5 points. then in 2a it was another familiar face in grundy, taking-home the title, beating-out clarke county by more than 120 points. 3a was a pretty tight race between christiansburg and cave spring, but the blue demons are able to take the crown, winning by 20 points. then in 4a, faquier county is your champ there. the 58th running of the daytona 500 gets rolling this afternoon just after 1 o'clock, and as a driver, if you're fortunate enough to make it to the last lap of the 500, it's a whi

good evening everyone, i'm karen loftus with your look at sports. while we got our first look at the radford baseball team wednesday, we also got our first look at their brand new indoor practice facility. the project has been in the works for a few years, and was finally finished this offseason, with players able to start using it at the end of january. the indoor facility is 82- thousand square feet, and will be for both the softball and baseball teams to use. in addition to the practice space, there are also 4 offices for each program and a coaches' locker room. for the players and coaches, it's a welcomed addition to they're really loving-- especially when it's this cold outside. daniel bridgeman, radford senior pitcher, "it's awesome being able to come and workout in here. right now it's 25 with a 15 mile an hour wind blowing. you can't stand out there much less practice. this would be a day that we didn't get work in. and now, as you can see, we're in here throwing bullpen, working on our defensive drills, stuff like that. it's a game changer
