karen rogers taking a look at that. good morning, karen. >> good morning.ng live here in chalfont bucks county and this is 202 parkway at bristol road. you can see the slick spots all over the road. at this point i think when you head out and it looks damp you still have to expect that it's going to be iced over and that's really problem out there. not that we're getting a lot of current precipitation but roads are icy and sidewalks most especially secondary roads and sidewalks parking lots we're dealing with that as you head out. we're seeing these cars move okay though. we're not really watching anyone slipping and sliding but you can see they're moving at a slower pace so be careful about that and that's a good idea to give yourself a lot of extra time and be prepared. don't make any sudden stops if you can try to avoid that by giving yourself a lot of space between yourself and the car ahead you. we're not finding a ton of accidents at the current point but that's because it's so quiet out there with so many people sleeping. 295 northbound past 73 we ha

karen rogers you're on the lookout for ice.ike most of the main roads are okay, though, right? >> i think the strong winds really did a good job in helping to dry out the roads but david is right anything that looks like a puddle is frozen over solid today. here's what we're looking at at the vine street expressway at eighth street, no problem right here. on some of the city streets you may find slick spots. earlier in the morning we heard about an icy spot at eighth and local vine so just give an idea to slow it down and be careful. in southwest philadelphia we continue to have that police activity woodland avenue and 56th street affecting the trolley shuttle busing between island and 49th and woodland. in stump road near route 313 between that and worthington road could be tickly slippery. as we go outside live trooper road at 422 a construction sign kind of blew over. you can see that right there in the roadway here. they have some cones set up around it so be careful with these strong winds they help dry out the roads but t

he's got accuweather and karen rogers is watching those roads.d a new round of sleet and freezing rain overnight. now it's kind of tapering off down south beginning to push farther south down into new castle county, delaware. cape may county still seeing some of this and every now and then there's a darker shade of blue. that's where some sleet is mixing in with this freezing rain. earlier in the overnight hours these areas to the north which are no longer seeing precipitation did see some and we have icy sidewalks redeveloping across the region maybe some problems on side streets as well so take it easy out there. winter weather advisory has been extended now until 8 o'clock in all of the counties you see here. that earlier snow, ice and sleet has created those new icy patches and it may be until 8 o'clock before we finally get the last of that precipitation off the coast and even after that you might have to wait a little while

let's go over to david murphy with the latest on the arctic blast and karen rogers is watching your morning commute. >> reporter: all right, we have a windchill advisory up in the poconos. windchills could go as low 15 to 25 below. we have melting on sunday with the nice, mild afternoon high in the 40s overnight refreezing look out for icing streets. i think it's a slip and fall kind of morning on sidewalks and parking lots and driveways out there. satellite shows cloud cover but some of this is thinning out but we expect a transition to partly sunny skies. 34 degrees is the current temperature, 34 in wilmington. # 1 in allentown. if you look at the numbers looks like we're setting ourselves up for an okay day. the problem not only is there a windchill drive driving the windchills down to the mid 20s, we'll see temperatures drop on the wind coming out of north. 24 by 8:00. 23 by noon. 2 by # p.m. 6:00 p.m. we're down to 20 and plunging into the teens and single digits after that. there will be a blustery, uncomfortable wind today. karen what are the roads looking like? >> reporter: we're lo

let's go over to karen rogers. >> they are doing a good job right, karen. >> reporter: they are doing a good job the dump truck is slowly getting on the flat bed truck. looks like they are getting ready to clear the scene. 495 southbound is shut down at 1th street. for a while northbound was shut down. the truck smashed through the median barrier. overturned, half the truck was on wednesday of the highway half the truck on the other side. it took a while to clear this out. they are getting ready to pull this out right now and perhaps we'll see them reopen the southbound side. it's not creating a huge problem, there's an on-ramp right there, you have to exit off 495 at south street and re-enter on, it's not creating a terrible backup. there's that accident scene. let's talk about other issues in the area. we've got a new accident in hill town township bucks county involving a deer. bethlehem pike we have a disabled vehicle that cleared. so we had a few issues in montgomery county, things are moving better. what are not looking good are the temperatures. 16 degrees in philadelphia. the

he's got accuweather and karen rogers is watching those roads. good morning. >> we've had a new round of sleet and freezing rain overnight. now it's kind of tapering off down south beginning to push farther south down into new castle county, delaware. cape may county still seeing some of this and every now and then there's a darker shade of blue. that's where some sleet is mixing in with this freezing rain. earlier in the overnight hours these areas to the north which are no longer seeing precipitation did see some and we have icy sidewalks redeveloping across the region maybe some problems on side streets as well so take it easy out there. winter weather advisory has been extended now until 8 o'clock in all of the counties you see here. that earlier snow, ice and sleet has created those new icy patches and it may be until 8 o'clock before we finally get the last of that precipitation off the coast and even after that you might have to wait a little while for things to begin to melt. as we take a look at the morning rush do expect delays. the car
