kari hall is tracking. the concern is fire danger. >> that is the reason there is a red flag warning in effect for parts of the north bay and this is the area we'll have to watch and the reason why we do have that microclimate weather alert in effect mainly for the north bay. and this is where you cannot do things like burning, you have to be careful with cigarettes and tossing them out of the window and fireworks are a no-go this weekend. with the low humidity and temperatures going up. the red flag warning starts at 11:00 tonight and monitoring the area around the pawnee fire where we will see the possibility of that fire direction shifting as our winds change and the winds come out of the north that could push some of the smoke into the rest of the bay area. with very low humidity, temperatures soaring over 100 degrees and the dry conditions at night. we'll have to continue to monitor that. as we look at hour by hour temperature, so far everything is comfortable. but in the afternoon it will warm up in t

let's get to kari about the weather. waking up to nice cool temperatures. >> yeah, and most of us seeing the sunshine as well. it's going to start out nice and cool, some 50s as you get ready to head out the door and that morning drive. you'll probably have to turn on the heater. here's a live look outside in fremont with low 50s as you get ready to step out. and that morning drive through the east bay continues to be partly to mostly cloudy skies and then as we go through early afternoon, a lot of sunshine, only upper 60s. highs reach in the mid-70s for concord and antioch as well as the north bay. san francisco still going to be cool but we've got a big warm-up in the forecast. i'll have more on that in a few minutes and mike tracking a crash in san jose. >> i'm tracking the rest of the bay commute as well but the problem is in san jose wbecause we only have the metering lights on at the bay bridge. the biggest backup north 101 jams up now coming up past tully where a motorcycle crash -- motorcycle has been removed and

kari talking about a warm-up today. >> yeah.o we're enjoying the pleasantly warm weather before it gets uncomfortably hot. heading into the weekend, today in con court, into the l-- in c we'll talk about what is ahead for the weekend coming up next. >>> we're starting out with pleasant weather for the day. it will warm up and we need tone joy what we have right now because it is going to be hotter. >> it is going to be hot into the weekend and making it hard to enjoy your time outside, especially for the south bay. as we take a live look outside in woodside, we could see the fog has rolled back off shore and we're getting sunshine there as well. that is not the case yesterday at this time. we're also seeing all clear skies, looking at san jose at this hour, heading out it still feels nice and we will see all of that sunshine continuing through the afternoon. let's check out the temperature trend for palo alto with some mid-70s there today. through about 3:00 to 4:00 and then already starting to cool down by 7:00. so windows open

kari showed you the sunrise. this is heading north away from us. folks heading towards us, look at the sun at the overpass hitting folks in the eyes. that will be contributing to the sunrise slowdown 280 at 101 on the peninsula. watch as they come down in the south bay. back to you. >> this morning we're getting a better understanding of where migrant children are being held as they wait to be reunited with their parents. meantime, bay area activists are making their voices heard today at the only i.c.e. detention facility here in the bay area. >> kris sanchez live in richmond with a protest getting under way in just about half an hour, kris? >> just about a half hour. we haven't seen any of the protesters arrive but we have seen some of the sheriff's deputies kind of ramping up their coverage out here outside the west county detention facility, which as you mentioned is the only ice center here in the bay area. folks should start to gather in the next half hour or so. they say they will be out here until 7:00 vigil tonight. now the families togeth

not bright and sunday as we would hope, kari, but change possibly coming later? >> we'll take a look at this camera in san jose. it is all clear here. so we do still have low clouds and fog near the coast. and it is all about location today. so we are seeing those temperatures warming up and in response to the clear skies for some of our valleys where right now in the upper 60s in san jose. livermore 69 degrees. it is 71 in fairfield. oakland 57 degrees. and a cool 62 degrees in san francisco. as we go down to los gatos, we'll continue to see our sunshine warming up temperatures. we'll be in the mid-70s at 1:00 and then heading into the mid-80s by early afternoon. now it will cool down fast. once those breezes kick in after reaching our high temperature of 83 degrees in san jose. we'll be up to 87 for the high in livermore. 91 in concord today. san francisco 65. only some peeks of sunshine into the afternoon. not clearing as well as we're seeing on the parts of the inner bay and the valley. and napa today, we're looking at a high of 88 degrees. so it will be warm

let's head over to kari hall with a look at the forecast for today. a nice cool day today. >> we start out nice and cool and see the clouds around the bay area. there will be spots where you can go and stay cool like san francisco today. here's a look at at&t park, we're getting ready for the giants game tonight at first pitch, only going to be in the upper 50s and breezy winds and there will be clouds rolling by. we'll be up to 87 in livermore, 91 in concord. in napa today, 88 degrees, 71 in oakland. 82 in palo alto and san francisco 65 degrees. wide range of temperatures. we'll talk about what's ahead for the weekend in about seven minutes. mike gets you out the door with a look at a couple of crashes in slow spots on the road. >> we have a couple of crashes, one of them would be the east shore freeway. over the last 20 minutes really seen traffic start to stack up at the berkeley curve. there was a disabled vehicle reported around this area. i don't see it on either of the cameras pointing into that portion but we do see the slower drive here and b

i'm @kari hall weather. as we check out the forecast, nice week ahead for the inland areas, low 80s but heating up again for saturday and sunday and san francisco stays in the upper 60s to lower 70s of the mike, you're checking in. what's happening at the tri-valley. >> that's right, we had what i thought was a crash and turns out to be trash. we're looking over here most of the commute looks great. it is over here. west 580 over at the dublin interchange. we'll show you rest of the contra costa county, highway 4 a little blip through bay point. no big surprises. san rafael, an earlier crash on that bridge, west 580 is clear at speed. over here west 580 is the concern. look at that heading towards the dublin interchange, we see the crowd past the b.a.r.t. station and smooth drive past there a bag of trash before you get to the dublin grade. look at the traffic here. still close to the limit throughout the area. that's good and trash hopefully cleared quickly. we're looking at the b.a.r.t. lines and told you
