i want to go to karl rove on this, a texan himself. karl, where do you think this is going? it in context for the viewers. two big issues dominating this discussion in texas. it had to do with practices used last year in harris county, home to houston texas. harris county decided to have 24-hour voting. allow people to vote for 24 consecutive hours which is not allowed under state law. they had one day of that. this law that has been proposed in texas would make it clear that's not allowed. it's expensive. you have to put in election officials, volunteer election judges, the parties have to nominate people and that will be hard for a lot of counties to do one county out of 254 did it. the other one is drive-thru voting. texas has a law that says people that can use drive through voting are for people that are unassisted. who is in the car checking while you vote? that's why we don't like that. those are the two big issues here. why do we have the democrats saying this is needed? because they say if we don't have these laws, it's voter suppression. the problem is this: harris

stuart: karl rove, thanks very much for being here, karl.e you again soon. the master of the whiteboard, this guy. thanks, karl. let's get back to the markets. we still got green for the nasdaq, 70 points higher, that is solid gain. but the dow and s&p are down. bob doll joins us now. i want to engage you in the discussion about peak profits. i heard a lot about this, that the profits being reported at the moment are just fantastic. that at the peak of profitability. is it? >> we're in peak profit growth mode but not peak profits. and that is a important distinguishing characteristic. that is to say the growth rate in the second quarter will be most likely above 70%. that is off the charts. in the third and fourth quarters we're going to get growth in profits but at a slower rate. so peak profitability, growth is accurate. peak profits are still in our future, stuart. stuart: what does that mean for the market if profit growth is still going to -- we're still going to have profit growth, is that good for the market? does that hold the market

karl, great to see you.s infrastructure bill and the whole bait and switch thing because we have a president who promised inclusion , he promised he was going to get reunification, not division. we got something very different in terms of his governance. are you thinking the same thing might be true with what he's saying about infrastructure? >> well, at times i have been concerned about it, but the fact of the matter is apparently, a group of republican and democratic senators have arrived at a bill. the bill takes the longstanding highway bill, and reauthorizes it for the coming, i think, five years, and then adds $550 million additional spending that's paid for by basically sop ping up a lot of the unspent covid money and a couple other that don't affect the 2017 tax cut bill, so so far so good. if it gets through the senate, which i think it will, then it's an advantage for both republican s and for biden, but then if it goes to the house and is blocked by the squad, and if nancy pelosi says we're not go
