i'll tell you the important messaging now and that's what governor kasich said. because governor kasich, like every governor in this country hashes to worry about actual individual people. a lot of the verbiage, a lot of what you're hearing from congress, and you heard from mr. price, is very abstract. the sense that the system will work, that eventually every -- you know, premiuming will come down. kasich can't -- can't pretend, can't wait to do this experiment, because he needs to have the money for opioid problems and for the mentally ill and he needs that money every single year, and he knows, because he's worked on budgets when he was in the federal government, he knows how expensive these things become over time. so the people who understand the date-to-day reality of the health care system in america are not going to be persuaded by the language that the republicans are using at the moment to sell this senate bill. >> patrick, to you. you heard tom price speaking to our dana bash. after pressing he admitted or stod by his statement this plan in its entiret

and ultimately, governor kasich and i are not going to agree on everything. if we were writing this bill passes been a lot of work on figure out what are the compromises and how could we get to that place. we both agree with got to control the rise in health care at all levels, but certainly in terms of the private exchanges and in terms of medicaid. but we got to make sure we also don't roll back coverage. that's immoral and i think to try and push that on the country really for the benefit of, who is benefiting from this bill? is not improving health care. $230 billion of the highest earners and the people that have a large amount under an income. i've to a couple dozen and asked each one, doesn't matter to you when you're making $2 million a year or have a friend who he and his wife together make $300,000 a year and a year and they would save several thousand dollars? they don't care. it's not something you're asking for the summit gives it to them, they will take about every single high earner, wealthy individual in the country, there's going to be less t

what might have been a path, and i think that governor kasich is pretty forward leaning. maybe out of step with some elements of the republican party. he is not a denier. especially on the american right. but i think that there were other things to do. and we don't know everything he will say but there was a route to be taken by a clever republican or democrat. they could have sent to it congress. donald trump could have said, i don't want to do this alone. i want to do with it congress. he could have said, i didn't decide. i sent this to the house and the senate to see if it had support among their constituencies. i think he could have done a conservative version of this. these were targets. one of the weaknesses of the agreement in the eyes of some of its detractors were that they were just targets, not binding. so there were a lot of different paths. i think people that project all of their homes on to ivanka donald trump had talked about these scenarios. that ivanka was trying to present curtain number three, that it wasn't a binary choice between staying in an obama-
