cnn's kate bolduan, covering that for us. kate, what are you hearing about whether he did break any rules? >> reporter: it is actually quite unclear, kyra. as you said, nancy pelosi has come out to call for this ethics investigation. in her statement, she said, she is calling for the committee to look into whether any official resources were used or any other violation of house rules occurred. i spoke with a well-known ethics expert this morning. he tells me that the rules about how a member of congress should or shouldn't conduct themselves or behave online are very unclear in this new age of twitter and social media. many other people are pointing to kind of an ar cane provision that members should conduct themselves in a man they are that reflect credibly of the house. that provision is not used generally as a stand-alone provision to sanction someone often used in conjunction of some other form of violation. the democratic leader has called for this investigation. we have no official word or response from the committee but

cnn's kate bolduan has the details of the case. you just break down for us now exactly what did the court say? >> reporter: yeah. there's a lot going on here, joe, but let's break it down. a huge win for walmart here, a big blow for the women who brought this discrimination case and beyond. these women claim in a lawsuit that's now stretched over a decade, that they were paid less and they were passed over for promotio promotions in terms of their male counterparts, and this happened for years. they called it a corporate culture of discrimination, but walmart, they defend themselves. they say they've had a longstanding policy against discrimination in their 4,300 facilities, and in the end, the court sided with walmart, ruling in their favor, saying very briefly in the majority opinion, joe, that the workers "provided no convincing proof of a company-wide discriminatory pay and promotion policy," effectively ending this class-action lawsuit, joe. >> is there a lot of impact for businesses and employees going forward? >> reporter: th

i want to bring in cnn congressional correspondent, kate bolduan. obviously there seems to be a lot of pressure that is mounting. do we think there is a breaking point. do we think the congressman will be able to survive this politically? >> that's a very good question, suzanne, but it's hard and impossible to really predict at this point. number one being this story seems to be changing hour by hour. here's what we do know. we know the congressman has been pretty darn firm that he's staying put. he's not going anywhere, that he is not resigning. as you very well noted, there is a growing number of democrats, his own party, even in the house that are coming out to call for his resignation, so more pressure there. a more public push to force him out. and my colleague, dana bash, heard from one democratic law maker who has spoken to anthony weiner, that anthony weiner is, quote, truly conflicted. so we have to see how this pressure mounts and how that affects congressman weiner's position to stay or go, if it does at all. >> looking at the big picture
