nbc 10's katey zachary is live. what have you learned? >> reporter: we moved fwrrom th scene to the norristown police department. police are telling us that two people were shot overnight. at least one person was rushed to the hospital with injuries from that shooting. the scene is near oak and chain streets in norristown. this happened just after midnight around 12:15 in a residential part of the city. police cleared the scene a coupl couple of hours after they first got there. but when they were they were focused on and investigating a parked car on chain street. they are not releasing more information as of now, but they tell us more information will come in just a few hours from the montgomery county prosecutor's office. we are staying in touch with them. and as soon as we get more info we'll pass it onto you. katey zachary, nbc 10 news. >>> in parkland, florida, students are preparing to return to class on wednesday. they attended an orientation with their parents yesterday afternoon. the first time they'd been back at the school sin

this is where katey zachary is taking a live look right now. she said she was seeing some sleeting.he neighborhood we see our model is going to go through a snow and ice mix and in the afternoon rain. some light snow starting to fall and mixing in with that icy precip. this continues through 8:00 a.m. here. this is actually a better thing. if you get snow on roadways the treatment can help and it stacks up and you can get better grip on the roadway. so some icing through about 10:00 a.m. is possible. this model starts to dry it out quickly, i actually think this area could see a bit hoar. that sticks through your lunchtime along the northern most neighborhood, but everywhere else starting to turn over to a little bit heavier rain. this will help melt off some of that snow we are dealing with. we're putting this in the red. 2 to 4 inches of accumulated snow. ice is possible as we turn over to heavier rain during the day. crunchy snow on the roadway is certainly possible so take it slow. slow, good advice. speaking of which let's find out how the schuylkil morning. >> what are youeing

we continue our team coverage now with nbc 10's katey zachary. joins us live right now. what are conditions looking like right now? >> reporter: hi, tracy. well, we're in fronts force 10 right now. we're seeing the first flakes in our headlights here. this is the first precipitation we're seeing in the north and west neighborhoods of philadelphia. the surfaces have been pretreated. there's salt here, but as we swing the camera around and show you germantown avenue, we aren't seeing the pretreating on the roads through philadelphia that we typically see before a big snow event. that's because as we've been telling you this is going to hit during a crucial time during the morning rush, but the amount is not the most we've seen from past events. so i can tell you the germantown avenue is bit tricky because of the cobblestone and bricks. just from prior experience this can get pretty slick. we're going to leave here and head south to delaware county now. we'll be on route one on some of hat the rs. roads are looking like. >> all right, you can download the nbc 10 app and kee

katey, tell us what police are telling you. >> reporter: yeah, well, about 12:15 police first got on scene. and they just moments ago they left the scene, but before that they were focused just down the block on chain street. we're at the intersection of oak and chain. pretty residential area. a few blocks over is where you'll find more of the businesses that may have had more the exterior video cameras and things of that nature. we just spoke to one man who was leaving for work. he said he didn't hear anything and slept through the apparent gunfire. just after midnight two people we're told were shot. one was taken to the hospital. police were focused on a car just down the block from here. we're reaching out to them as well as the montgomery county prosecutor's office to find out the conditions of the people who were shot. we're hearing no one has been arrested for the shooting. katie zachary, nbc 10 news. >>> 5:01 and we have new information on the historic building fire. demolition of the gutted building on chestnut street will not begin today as previously scheduled as announced

supervisors, district one supervisor sandra fewer, and district -- representing the richmond district, and katey tang representing the sunset district. both of them were very pleased with the proposal that we will use going forward. we met with them languast weekd then just this week on monday, we went before capital planning and one of the puc staff members presented the plan, which we will again provide you a copy of. it seemed to be very well received by the community members present as well as the members on the capital planning committee. next step, there's a director harland kelley and i on february 7th will be going before the government audits and oversight committee to present this plan, so we feel very confident in moving forward with this project in which there's already $40 million identified in puc money to move this project forward. so more to follow on that. and i do recommend sort of maybe an invitation to the puc who has worked with us on this in conjunction with deputy chief rivera who's put in a lot of time on this to come and explain this. it's very technical, but the powerpo
