katherine scott has more on what happened here.ood morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, detectives here at the homicide division are investigating. the man was pronounced at the scene after being struck by the minivan. looks like he was shot before that. so, again, this remains under investigation. chief of police say the driver of the minivan has been cooperating with police. this happened before midnight. police and paramedics k walled to the rear -- were called to the rear driveway of north 68th street. officers found the man lying underneath the minivan. he was unresponsive and pronounced dead. medics saw he was shot in the head. the driver of the minivan was returning home when he struck the man. the victim was dragged about 100 feet north. >> the are 51-year-old driver of the minivan realized something was stuck under his vehicle, got out to investigate, that's when he realized there was a body underneath the minivan. >> reporter: police did find multiple spent shell casings in the rear driver. anyone with info

katherine scott is live on the 7100 block of germantown avenue. she has the details on what's geeing on here, good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, police say four people were shot, three of them were customers inside a bar here, the 4th was a bartender who was working. the shooting happened actually outside the bar in east mount airy, 7165 restaurant bar and there's music there, as well. it happened right after closing. police believe the shooter was a customer inside the bar. there had been 20 people inside for a small concert going on on the 7100 block of germantown avenue. a fight started brewing inside, at 2:00 a.m. when the bar closed everyone went outside and the fight turned physically, employees went out to calm everybody down and 8 shots were fired. officers on patrol heard the gunshots to see people running and cars speeding away they followed a vehicle that crashed into a telephone pole in there from west upsal. a man was shot multiple times and is in critical condition at einstein. two other men showed up at the hos

katherine scott is.oins us live from runnemede. >> reporter: pouring rain here for hours, very strong wind gusts. we did see snow here earlier so in some spots very slushy. taking a look at the black horse pike you can see there's quite a bit of traffic at this hour. earlier there were fewer cars on the roads. the plows have been through here multiple times. now the plows that come through have their plows up. now, of course black horse pike at a main road here in runnemede. some of the side streets might have a little bit more coverage. you still want to look out for those slippery spots. it did start as snow this morning. earlier this morning overnight they did see a couple inches of snow in this area but around 3:30 came the pouring rain. there was a bit of a time in those several few hours, there was a transition, very heavy snowflakes kind of a wintry mix. at this stage, though, it's just been rain, strong wind gusts here, just messy and sloppy and again, we have seen quite a few cars out as it's go

katherine scott is live outside with a closer look hey, katherine. >> reporter: hey matt you could see slow downs over the neck couple of -- next couple of weeks, there are crews in place to start the upgrades. while this is going on you'll be able to use the traditional e-z pass lanes, these closures affect drivers on i-476 using express e-z pass lanes at the mid county toll plaza. they officially closed last evening at 6:00 p.m. those lanes are supposed to remain closed for three weeks so crews can upgrade the overhead electronic tolling equipment for open road tolling. thisthis is the first phase of e project. the project is expected to be complete september of next year, as for this phase involving the e-z pass express lanes they should just be closed for three weeks. as we head out this morning, you will see digital signs along the highway alerting drivers of lane closures, i know we passed several of those this morning. if all goes as planned, the lanes reopen april 6 at 10:00 p.m. all the crews are mobilizing and getting ready for the three weeks of repair. katherine scott chann

katherine scott is live at police headquarters with the latest on what we know. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: that's right, a man was shot in the rear driveway and hit by a minivan and dragged 100 feet. he was pronounced on the scene. the driver is not considered a suspect in the case, he is cooperating with police. let's go to video to overbrook. shortly before midnight police were called to the rear driveway of north 68th street. there was a report of a man getting hit by a man in a driveway. the man was none responsive and pronounced dead. police say the driver of the minivan was returning home when he struck the man. the victim was dragged north. 51-year-old driver of the minivan realized something was stuck under his vehicle, got out to investigate that's when he realized there was a body underneath the minivan. >> reporter: and investigators did find multiple spent shell casings in the rear driveway. this investigation continues. so far there's no word if there is any surveillance footage in the area. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> new

katherine scott is live on rising sun avenue with the latest. >> reporter: that is right there were two homicides in the city within a half hour overnight and police are searching for the people behind them. neighbors on this north philadelphia block tell "action news" they heard about a dozen gunshots at 2:45 and a 31-year-old man was lying in the road hit multiple times he had wounds to his head chest and back and was pronounced dead shortly after 3:00 a.m. around 2:20 a.m. police were called for a person shot in feltonville. a 24-year-old man hit in the chest on rising sun after few, he was pronounced dead at the hospital at 2:35 a.m. police were questioning witnesses from a nearby after hours club but they were unsure if the victim was inside before the shooting and the two shootings were unrelated and the homicide rate is higher now than the same time last year. the police commissioner says that long-term trends can be more telling. >> it's early in the year for us to be talking about percentages, we are just concerned about any uptick at any time. >> commissioner richard ross expl

what are police saying, katherine?, nydia, police say that the victim is a 55-year-old unlicensed cab driver and he remains at the hospital this morning. he is in stable condition. the search continues for the suspects and this investigation is under way. let's go to video from west philadelphia last night. this took place around 11:40 p.m. the victim was that behind the wheel of his cadillac and picked up two men at 52nd and market. one of the men got in the front seat, one got in the back. the man in the front immediately started hitting the driver with his handgun. the victim tried to fight him off and that's when the suspect in the back seat fired a single shot. the bullet went through the seat and hit the driver in the back. the attackers both fled. the victim drove about five or so blocks to 52nd and chancellor and that's when he got out and was taken to the hospital. >> known to be an unlicensed cab driver in that area and looks like the males just get in the car to get a ride somewhere. they never announced whe
