let's go over to katherine scott live at the transportation center that's where they took the bulls. >> reporter: after police spoke with the septa driver and witnesses they believe this was a violent domestic case and they believe they knew each other. the bus was taken to the transportation center. they are trying to pull surveillance footage from the many cameras on the bus so they can get a better description of the man and the woman that they are looking for. this happened before 2:00 a.m. on the boulevard in crescentville. police say the septa bus was going south on the boulevard when he noticed a grand prix pulled up close to them. a man got out of the car and shouted at the bus the woman in her 20s was sitting by herself. he punched the window and cracked the window. he tried to get in the front door, the driver pulled out. the bus stopped at the next bus stop that's when the man pulled the car in front of the bus and got out. at the same time, the woman was getting off the bus, police say he grabbed her and punched her several times in the head and face and then forced her i

katherine scott is live at east detectives with the full story. erine. >> reporter: hat, that's right, two men were shot, one in critical condition, the other in stable condition. the gunman is still on the run. and police say the gunman fled with several people including a one-year-old boy and police say that little boy is a particular concern because he was in the home at the time this all happened and detectives here at the east division in hunting park are investigating this case. investigators are hearing that this started with an argument. the people on both sides of that argument live in separate apartments on the second floor of a row home on the 3900 block of north percy street in hunting park. police say that argument turned physical. knives were involved. then someone pulled a gun. just before midnight police were called out for a report of a person with a weapon. when officers got there, the front door was wide open. a trail of blood along the steps and walls led officers upstairs. >> when the officers checked the property to see if the

katherine scott is live at lee's cafe and bistro on washington avenue. >> reporter: the victim worked as a cook, 54 years old. she was found in the basement kitchen area. there's a takeout on the first floor and restaurant on the second floor and parentally there's a dumb waiter device that moves the food up and down the floor. it's unclear how often people go into the kitchen with the cook was. police were called to the 500 block of washington avenue in south philadelphia around 9:00 p.m. they found the woman downstairs lying on the floor her throat was slashed. she was pronounced at 9:15 p.m. there were signs of a violent struggle in the basement kitchen. the equipment was knocked over and there was severe bruising to her face. the restaurant was open, four other employees inside at the time and other customers on the second floor of the restaurant. police are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses to see if it could provide any clues. >>> these cameras could have recorded someone going to and leaving from the homicide scene. >> reporter: the detectives interviewed th

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside school district headquarters in spring garden hose details. katherine. >> reporter: matt, that's right, this was very sudden. this ninth grader was in school on monday and thenearly yesterday morning died of bacterial meningitis. health department officials notified and officials here at the school district and grief counselors will be back again at that school today in north philadelphia. the student attended george washington carver high school of engineering and science, 16th and norris. the students learned of the passing yesterday. two letters went out to parents. one had information from the health department. those who shared a classroom lunch table or bus with the victim are not considered at risk, only those who had very close contact such as kissing or living in the same houses are considered potentially at risk. the other letter explained that their children could show signs of emotional stress with the death of a classmate. >> young man that seemed to have been very liked and very well known, he was part of the basketb

katherine scott is live now at police headquarters. morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and that 14-year-old remains in the hospital this morning in very critical condition. we're told that he was in surgery overnight and what exactly happened last night remains under investigation. but investigators were out in west philadelphia. they say at least eight shots were fired in this shooting last night. it happened around 9:30 and police say the shooting happened on the 200 block of north simpson street but the victim, a 14-year-old boy was found around 60th and vine. how he got there remains under investigation. he was shot once in his back. he was taken to penn presbyterian hospital in very critical condition. investigators are still trying to piece together what happened. >> right now we do not have a motive for the shooting. we don't have a description of a shooter or shooters. we're not even certain at this time if this 14-year-old victim was the intended target or if he was hit with a stray bullet. >> reporter: and so

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live for us now in ac. she's got the details. morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. the mayor had been warning recently that the day was approaching that they would no longer be able to pay city workers and then late yesterday afternoon a statement came out from mayor don guardian here in atlantic city. and he said that they're forced to shut city hall due to financial circumstances beyond the city's control. that would start on friday april 8th at 4:30 in the afternoon and he expects this closure to remain in effect until at least may 22nd which is when the city expects to receive its next payment of quarterly taxes. city workers can can expect not to get paid during those three weeks even those who will continue to show up. nonessential service will be ended and closed for that time period but essential services, that means police, fire, revenue collections and some divisions of public works, those employees are expected to show up for work but they will not be paid their salary during that time. health benefits w

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live where this happened along route 130 in pennsauken. katherine. >> reporter: matt, at this point police haven't released a description of the vehicle but we do know there's front end damage to that vehicle. they also have not released the identity of the victim. now, this happened last night here along route 130 in the southbound lanes in pen salk can ken. the road is opened right now but it was closed for hours for the police investigation. police say a man had been crossing right around here on route 130 near browning road around 11:30 last night. according to police, he made it out to the median before being struck by a vehicle traveling south. the man was then thrown across the southbound lanes and he landed in a parking lot near a burger king and was pronounced dead at the scene. police were here looking for evidence and they did recover a front bumper that came off the striking vehicle and again, we don't have a description of the vehicle but there are a lot of businesses around here and the hope is that there are some surveillance
