kathie baker was taking a class at the gym when a car slammed into the building. it happened at the lifestyles rx gym in livermore. that's where we find ktvu's john sasaki who says the 80- year-old driver hit the wrong pedal, john. >> reporter: it's the kind of thing we often hear about. usually an older driver slamming on the gas instead of the break and slamming into a building. this time it was fatal. people in livermore were in stunned silence after the incident. around 60:00 a. -- 6:30 a.m. an suv slammed into the gym. six people were injured and 49- year-old kathie baker of livermore was killed. >> terrible. i mean it's a terrible shock. i mean, you can't prepare for something as tragic as this. i mean, it's just something that happens in the blink of an eye. and the rest of us are left to

kathy, thank you. developing news tonight, out of the city's parkside neighborho neighborhood.kyfox over the 5100 block of kershaw street. officials say a 31-year-old man was shot several times inside his home on that block by his own brother. he was taken to presbyterian hospital where he later died. applies said that brother took off. they are still looking for him. >>> tragedy tonight on the streets of south philadelphia. sky fox over south 21st street where a bus hit a little boy killing him. fox 29's chris o'connell is outside of chop right now. chris, that's where the boy was rushed earlier tonight. >> reporter: lucy, a hear heart-breaking story that police are calling a tragic and unfortunate accident. a two-year-old boy died here at children's hospital of philadelphia less than an hour after being struck by a bus. what makes this story even more tragic, the boy's father may have witnessed his son's death. the driver of septa paratransit bus clearly distraught after his bus struck and killed a little boy. family members have identified him as two-year-old muhammed sila.
