. >> meteorologist kathy orr is in our fox 29 studios. kathy any chancery left is on the way? >> well, eventually, iain. we keep saying that. today is day sick of the heat wave and you saw those storms pop up. i was watching them on ultimate doppler right over sea isle ci city. we got about two to 3-inches of rain very short period of time prolific lightning with this and when you look at the rain rates it's incredible. the same thing could happen tomorrow for many of us as we see more of these torrential downpours. remember, never cross a road that is covered with water in a car or by foot. you can see in sea isle about 3.5, maybe even more inches of rain there that's why we saw the flash flooding. high temperatures for today pretty impressive. well above the average of 87. philadelphia and reading made it to 94. newark, delaware, 93. princeton, new jersey, 91. mt. holly home of the national weather service in our area 90 and in atlantic city at the airport 87. this evening temperatures fall through the 80s. it will be a quiet night. i don't expect any more shower activity. w

follow that one, kathy orr. >> i can't.ise we're talking about heat and humidity and it is going to stay hot until further notice through most if not all of the seven day forecast. in old city philadelphia it is sticky out there. the temperature still 77 degrees. the high today 84. the dew point at 73. that is a dew point temperature. the measure of moisture in the atmosphere no matter what the temperature is outside and that is very high reading right now 77 in the city. trenton 73. 76 in wrightstown. wilmington and dover at 77. not much of a difference down the shore. muggy there as well with temperatures in the 70s. and because of all this humidity, and the rain that we had earlier, we can even see some areas of fog overnight. looking at all those due point temperatures when you see a dew point of 70 or greater it is oppressive and we're seeing mostly 70s with the exception of the poconos. so we went from muggy to uncomfortable to oppressive and we'll stay in that category for at leave the next two days. on the fox futur

let's get right to meteorologist kathy orr with what we're dealing with. kathy? >> those storms started popping early this afternoon moved through philadelphia win last hour. now into south jersey and delaware. some torrential downpours in the state of delaware right now. let's take a zoom in. i'll show you the severe threat. right now we have a city thunderstorm in the wilmington area. new castle county, and no salem county the severe thunderstorm will continue to move toward the east. as we track it moving east about 15 miles an hour, the heavy rain will be in quinton at 5:15. 5:24 in upper pitts grove and glassboro by 5:00 they. very heavy rain associated with this cell, and also some frequent lightning. so be aware of that. right now also another severe thunderstorm warning in effect for kent county, new castle and also queen an informs and kent. the eastern shore of maryland and always through kent county, delaware, and this is until 5:15. a severe cell crossing over from the eastern shore into the state of delaware into middletown as we speak and we have hu
