the newsroom. >> jeff. >> reporter: lucy, day of mixed news for pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane the state senate failed in its attempt to pass a measure which could have removed her from office the state house vo voted to begin the process to impeach her. kane first term democrat in the first woman elected to the attorney general in the commonwealth is criminally charged with leaking secret grand jury information and later lying about it under oath. her law license has been taken from her because of those char charges. the senate needed a two-thirds majority to approve a measure to remove her from office. democrats voted in nearly a straight party line vote to reject the plan and it failed. headed past governor wolf would have had to make the final call on getting her out of office. now, in a statement kane called the vote a good day for those who like her want to restore integrity to state government. now the house voted to begin the impeachment process. that now gives a panel of the authority to begin an investigation. that could result in what essence will be an impeachment t
