i'm kathryn bursch for 10 community. >>> good thursday afternoon. a gorgeous day. we are looking at sunny skies. the clouds to our south. look at this pretty picture. this is from sarasota. you can see bright blue skies. and the winds have really decreased in the last 24 hours. that is what is helping make it feel so much more comfortable outside. 64 carrollwood. 61 tampa. 53 st. pete. these temperatures moderating nicely from where we started in the upper 30s and low 40s. and our nice weather, a result of high pressure in control over the entire sunshine state. that gives us stable air, sinking air. we are not going to see any rain for the next few days. leave the umbrellas in the back of your closet. high temperatures today warming up more. st. petersburg cooler by the water with a high of 61. a great day to head to the state fair. winds mild from the southwest at 5 miles per hour. across the nation we have snow showers across montana, dakotas into nebraska. out west we have an area of low pressure bringing rain, snow and ice to higher elevations of the pacific n

i'm kathryn bursch for 10 commune. >>> cool in the evening hours. breezy at the coast with a northeast to east wind but dry. we'll have a great weekend weather wise. 72 degrees in february. this is where we should be. 73 is the average high temperature. 55 is the average low. finally we are getting the weather we should be getting for this time of year. thank goodness. this is some of the best weather we get across the year. 70 lakewood ranch. 72 lakeland. sarasota 74 degrees. we have 69 degrees in new port richey. it is going to be a little cooler on the coastal areas because of the water temperatures. it is in the lower 60s. the wind is generally out of the east. that won't keep us too cool but in the st. pete area that wind will be coming across the bay. temperatures are still in the 60s. not a lot of wind. coast. 5 to 10 inland. tracking clouds for you today. that's it. the radar is turned on. you just don't see any rain falling from these. there could be a sprinkle or two on the east coast. this trend continues through the weekend. i don't thin

i'm kathryn bursch for 10 community. >>> 12:16. a fantastic thursday afternoon. this is just one of the best parts of the week here. that was the number one rated beach, clearwater beach. hall looking beautiful. a breeze at times along the water. very, very comfortable. 70 in carrollwood. clearwater is 71. same thing in sarasota. 73 bradenton. 68 polk city and lakeland. a cooler 66 degrees in crystal river. comfortable with sunshine for everyone. northeast winds is why we'll warm up this afternoon. sun shining down on this land here. that heats up and the air gets blown back our way. the winds have come down. they were 15 miles per hour at times a long the coast. we keep them in the 10 knot range for boaters through the afternoon. clouds, we have a few over off of the east coast until you get towards west palm. these will flow on shore the next couple of days. friday, saturday and sunday we'll get some to come over. most will be over polk county and fall apart towards our beaches. that's it. there will be a couple for us it is dry and warm. temperatures at or sli

gasparilla music festival is around the corner. 10 community kathryn bursch shows you what to expect this year. >> reporter: joining me today is david from the gasparilla music festival. we are a little over a month away. excitement is building. everything coming together? >> yes, it is. our festival is march 12-13. we have a great lineup. and a lot of excitement building. festival. >> reporter: i'm look about my notes here. you have 50-plus bands and five stages. there is really something for everyone over these two days. music i can think of. rock, alternative rock, funk, soul, r&b, jazz, bluegrass. any type of music you can think of on one of the five stages. it is something anybody can come out and enjoy. we have good family-friendly entertainment from 11:00 to 2:00. >> reporter: so you have kid's music going on and kid's activities for families, right? >> absolutely. we have our kid's fest. it takes place from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. saturday and sunday. all kids 12 and under are admitted free. we have an interactive zone where kids can return to play instruments and african drums. w
