francine: joining us from new york is kathy fisher at bernstein. ment or a currency packed, what does that mean for the market? kathy: there will be some relief, but i would argue that the market knows the trade issues are not the only issues. fundamental, the views of how an economy works, it is certainly intellectual property, these things are the big issues still out there. while they were be a huge sigh of relief if the tariffs do not come into play, those issues will still be lingering. i think we have to recognize that there are some short-term benefits that still will not answer the long-term question. scarlet: what would u.s. investors interpret as a successful partial trade deal? kathy: certainly anything that helps agriculture that is visible and tangible, that takes the pressure off the sectors of the u.s. economy that have been hurt. everybody is watching the consumer, so we do not want to see tariffs that directly affect the consumer and start to nap the incredible benefit -- nip the incredible benefit the global economy has gotten. sca
