joining us now is new york's current governor, kathy hochul. she served as lieutenant governor during the cuomo administration. governor hochul, thanks so much for joining us. when cuomo stepped down back in 2021, you called his behavior. and i'm quoting you now repulsive. do you think he is fit to serve as new york's mayor? >> first of all. >> wolf, congratulations on the new show. delighted to be on your first episode. also, here's what i want to tell you about the mayor's race. and this is going to you're going to hear today all the way up until the election's over for the primary in june. i will work with whomever the really smart voters of new york city decide they want to be their mayor. that is not up for me to decide. i don't even vote in the city. but i will say also, i will support people ultimately after they're elected who support my agenda of increasing public safety, dealing with the homelessness crisis, people with mental health problems, closing down illegal cannabis shops, making our streets safer. so i'm looking forward to wor

he abuses power and i will say kathy hochul has been a very weak governor she's been feckless in creatingr across new york state with very bad policy in dealing with the correction officers we have prisons in upstate new york where the inmates have taken over prisons because of the terrible policy put in place by kathy hochul. on top of the policies put in place by governor cuomo that she refuses to acknowledge although she did actually rollback temporarily one of the bad laws put in place in new york state because she wanted to make her prison safer. her only obligation with the prison system is to keep the correction officers and inmates and community safe. she is failing in the order and now she's looking at laws that she put in place to rollback. it remains to be seen if governor cuomo will actually go back and take away the greenlight law and will the end sanctuary cities into all the things that we need to do to keep in your community safe. i don't know that's up to the voters of new york city but it is not working in upstate new york and his policies have definitely had a negative
