we should explain, kathy this is a very deadly virus. i am just wondering how people are being quarantined and if hospitals are being trained in how to detect this relatively new very deadly virus. >> yes, errol, very deadly and relatively new in humans. not much is known about the spread, compared to other diseases. there is no vaccine. no cure. so the level of alarm in the public here is certainly growing. in terms of quarantine the government is stepping up its efforts. it does admit in the early stages it didn't do enough to make sure the first men who returned with the virus from the middle east was quarantined before he managed to spread it to dozens of others. now more than 1,300 people are being designated hospitals and others in their homes. as far as testing. the government is providing testing kits to the hospitals where they're needed and continuing to study the effects of the virus as they continue to stop, and try to stop the spread. >> kathy, what about the skl clechool closures? do we know how long schools will be expected to be closed? >> errol

kathy, what more can you tell us about what the disease is and how it broke out?eporter: well, it all started with man who traveled to the middle east, natalie. he came back mowing symptoms. it took a while for authorities to diagnose him with mers. he travelled to a number of medical facility before becoming a confirmed case. before then he exposed a number of other people who were patients at the same hospital, who had been visiting other patients and also doctors an nurses to the disease. now it has become the biggest outbreak outside of the middle east. now we are hearing new warnings that there is a chance that the public could have been exposeed. that is because one of the doctors who was a confirmed case of mers attended a symposium here in seoul before it was confirmed that he did in fact have that disease. and now seoul's mayor is warning anyone who attended that symposium to make sure that they quarantine themselves and stay away from the general population to try to stop the spread, natalie. >> and kathy, so we know that people are told to stay inside,
