kathy orr joins us a with first check of the forecast. >> iain washington a day. the high today made it into the 60s but that was at midnight and then temperatures crashed in the wake of a cod front. 51 degrees at 6am. 9am43. and by noon, it was 42. so nearly a 20-degree drop and looks like we'll going to see another swing in temperature. very dramatic temperatures this week. we're looking live at rehoboth beach, delaware arc really beautiful evening. temperatures still relatively decent for this time of day with a northerly wind. it's 30 in the poconos. 44 in philadelphia. and 42 in millville. northerly winds in wildwood with a dem cher of 40. as we look ahead overnight it will get cold, light winds clear skies. we call it radiational cooling. any warmth that builds up escapes into the atmosphere and we cool even more. so 20 in pottstown. 24 in wilmington. 25 in philadelphia and 23 in trenton. overnight in the poconos 13 degrees. we are looking at some mild temperatures moving our way right in time for valentine's day. talk more about that coming up with your sev

meteorologist kathy orr most of us cannot wait. >> it's unbelievable. we're feeling the impacts already. of course, the rain bringing in the warmth and the fog look at this. this is blue mountain you can see foggy conditions there as the skiers and snowboarders are having a great time on president's day. not all the mountains like this. but that warm air is coming up and over that cold snow pack. so fog will be an issue throughout the nighttime hours and for many of us come tomorrow morning. the warm air is invading you can see in pottstown visibility only three quarters of a mile. reading one an quarter mile. half mile rather. the poconos reporting in 10 miles but we have seen otherwise. take look at the chem hers. 35 in the poconos 41 in allentown and pottstown. 48 in philadelphia. 51 in millville. 52 in atlantic city. and with those southerly winds it's just going to get warmer overnight tonight. the few spotty showers lucy mentioned moving toward the east and then really it's the fog we will be contending with. overnight tonight temperatures staying

kathy orr here with more. kathy. >> oh, my goodness. what a day. the skies are clearing it's looking good out there, right? it's clearing skies and cool temperatures, iain. the high for the day 51. the clouds are giving way to clearing skies from the north to the south all that rain well to the south and we have 40s and 50s to contend with right now. 50 in philadelphia. 48 in millville and 49 degrees right now in trenton. overnight tonight it's going get a lot cooler as the skies clear and we have light winds out there. 28 in the poconos. 36 in philadelphia. and 33 in millville guess what? we have a big warming trend for the end of february. we are going to end the month well above average. it will be stormy start to the month of march. talk more about that and next weekend. already looking ahead iain. i'll see in you few minutes. kathy, thanks. philadelphia police are investigate a shooting in overbrook that killed a man. investigators say they found the 25-year-old man shot several times around 5:30 last night on the 5400 block of euclid street.

meteorologist kathy orr tracking kind of a messy morning, kathy. >> iain, it's snow, it's sleet, it'sezing rain and then transitioning to rain. the good news is, the cold is not going to win out. we will see the rain moving in. clean up the streets little bit. right in time for the parade of course on thursday. ultimate doppler showing it's getting closer. southern storm with warm southerly winds and the rain, some sleet and some snow. northern part of the storm that's going to be bringing the snow and pretty early. you can see this midweek mess as it unfolds this is big storm for new york, the ski resorts of new england and into maine and for the rest of us, it's going to be a bit of nuisance come tomorrow morning. right in time for school and work. it's 12 in the poconos. 31 in philadelphia. and 29 in wilmington. so everyone below freezing. so starting off as snow when the moisture moves in. wind speeds pretty much light across the region. so that's not going to be an issue. and we'll watch this move into tomorrow morning when most of us are sleeping or just waking up. so 5am, south

so let's get right on over to kathy orr with more on the storm's track. kathy? >> lucy we are talking about a powerful storm that's coming our way, and the shore will be feeling some intense impacts possibly the strongest winds and even the worst flooding right now temperatures are pretty mild in the 50's for the most part. in the poconos we're at 49 degrees. but as we look ahead, the storm right now located over you can see oklahoma and all of this rain moving toward the northeast. it's actually going to redevelop off the coast and become a major coastal stop. so we'll go hour by hour the first thing we're going to see is rain and that's going to be tomorrow afternoon. that rain will fall heavy at times you see the yellow that's tomorrow evening. and that means one to 2-inches of rain at least and then as the storm pulls away friday morning, it's part two. it's gusty winds, some damaging winds and even the possibility of some snow at the end of the storm. so this is what we know so far. we expect soaking rain that begins tomorrow. late in the day toward the eve

kathy orr is here with your forecast at 11:00. y. >> we're talking about fog in the morning that will continue through at least mid morning, iain then we'll see warmer temperatures building in. look behind me. this is blue mountain and you can see they're grooming but you kind of can't see because of the fog. visibility about a quarter of mile less in the poconos, and in the lehigh valley. temperatures 47 in philadelphia. the high 48. temperatures haven't dropped off and they may be rising overnight with that wip. winds out of the south we have at about 3 miles an hour. you can see those southerly winds building the temperature in dover it's 55. 46 in wilmington. 40 in pottstown and the poconos. when you look at the numbers, as a whole, across the country detroit in the 50's. cincinnati in the 60s all of this warm is this building tore the north and even upstate new york and new england will be mild tomorrow. so we have the clouds, the low clouds, the fog tomorrow morning. that gives way to sunshine during the afternoon. that's whe
