meteorologist kathy sabine joining us now from the weather center. another warm one to start the workweek. >> nothing you can't handle out there today, john man, on monday. everybody wants to on monday. everybody wants to cruise through the day and we don't have much in the way of severe weather expected tonight, tomorrow or the next day, but if you look outside, those clouds are dark and look like they mean business. not expecting heavy rain or hail, but these clouds are tracking off the foothills. up high in rocky national park it's been raining all day and some lightning where temperatures held in the mid- 70s, 90 degrees at dia anded 2 toward fort lupton, about 87 in dove valley. there's cool air lurking north of us that will be here later in the week. we're tracking weak thundershowers coming off the foothills producing lightning and wind, but the only high wind warning is west of salt lake city tonight. the big story continues in the gulf coast region with that area of low pressure spinning near houston. we have recorded another 3 to 6. >>> of

thanks so much for joining us, i am meteorologist kathy sabine out in the backyard. it is calm and quiet and actually pretty nice out here. the rain has come to an end and the wind has let up, even a little bit of sunshine today, the summer sun flours are beautiful, one of the few signs of summer lately with the cool, damp weather we have been experiencing the last 2 days. 71 at dia today and that is a far cry from average o where near the record of 99. we will be cool again tomorrow before the storm system to our west moves out. winds are south at 3, 56 degrees at the airport. we have been mid 50s here in downtown denver as well. the thundershowers coming off the foothills, packing some rain, our rain forecast indicate smz of the heaviest rain in bailey, evergreen, castle rock, parker, bennett area. next 12-24 hours. while it is dry and quiet now, it may not be that way for long. notice how the green is mixing purple color, that is a rain/snow mix, way up high, 10-12,000 feet. in the car eastern plains, couple embedded thunderstorms, not severe, heavy rain, little w
