>> good afternoon, katy. without climbing into the president's head, i think there are a couple theories we could postulate here, one could be that he is anxious about this mueller investigation that has expand of life of his presidency, and so an opportunity to get any insight on what's happening might prompt the president. another theory could be that he does want to learn from those who've been in front of the investigators getting some clues. the problem is it could be certainly interpreted by someone who works for the president as a compelling them to answer according to the reporting. reince priebus declined to say anything other than they were professional. so the dynamic is that anxiety, curiosity, or is it an attempt to shape what witnesses would say or to learn from those witnesses what they said or what the line of questioning is to help prepare his own understanding. so we don't know what's in his head, but those are some of the sort of points that you can imagine would go through this. people can

katy tur, it's great to have you. great interview today. thank you. >> thanks for having me. >>> nick akerman and a former acting solicitor of the u.s. under president obama. neil, i want to start with you on a basic legal question here you. get a document subpoena from a prosecutor and you say i'm not doing it. what happens next? >> yeah, so, i mean, it's kind of a ridiculous strategy that nunberg is pursuing here. to katy tur's credit, she found the one guy who is more unhinged than donald trump. but this is an unhinged strategy. he said i'm not going to show up on friday. i'm not going to give the documents. mueller's next move will be a motion to compel and ask a judge to order the documents and order him to appear. and that standard is very low. mueller is certainly going to win it, and he almost certainly has to bring such a motion. he can't just let this go because that sends a terrible signal to other witnesses. >> what do you make of what you saw today? have you ever encountered something like that. >> i have. >> you have? >> oh, y
