i'm katie collett. and i'm don roberts. let's get right to that breaking news we've been following since 4:30. for whoever shot two men on interstate 64 overnight. 10 on your side's rico bush is in newport news not far from the scene. rico what are state police saying? on today's date, february 18 2016, at approximately 2 am. the virginia state police communications center received a call of a possible shooting. the incident occurred on interstate 64 at mile marker 259 (near harpisville road), in the city of newport news. two male occupants were traveling in the left lane of interstate 64 when an unknown vehicle pulled up beside them and fired upon them. both victims were transported to riverside hospital, suffering non life threating injuries. no information regarding suspect's vehicle has been obtained. the vsp bureau of criminal investigations was called upon to investigate the shooting and are currently at the scene. the scene is safe at this happening today the trial is scheduled to begin against a local woman accused

i'm katie collett. happening today, it's the last day of work for hundreds at the newport news shipyard. more than 700 workers are losing their jobs! management announced the layoffs several months ago. rico bush is live outside the shipyard with the reasons why. rico. don, katie, since the layoffs began at newport news shipyard last september, the president of the company has maintained the reductions are based on a lack of workload, after all other options have been exhausted. president of newport news shipbuilding matt mulherin made the official announcement to early december. the company sent pink slips to 7- hundred 30 hourly workers and eight salaried employees, but the shipyard let them work for 60 more days. this morning will be the last time hundreds of workers will walk through the gates at company has tried to give impacted workers a little hope in moving in forward, because they say, employees can come back next year when the workload increases. still, as you may imagine, hearing this, may d
