katie polglase joining us live from london, many thanks. i want to bring in lieutenant colonel peter lerner from tel aviv, now he's a spokesperson for the israeli defense forces. we appreciate you joining us. >> good morning, rosemary. >> so, the palestinian interior ministry reports of israeli airstrikes have killed at least 28 people at the rafah border, in southern gaza early tuesday. why would israel bombed the very place it is telling palestinians to go? >> hamas interior ministry, that is part of hamas war machine, that is precisely what they want you to ask, rosemary. the reason why we are here is because hamas opened a war against israel. israel is now responding in kind, and i would say, and then some, and attention to change the game. when hamas butchered and abducted are civilians they have put themselves in jeopardy and they have, basically, intended in order to bring in the civilians of the gaza strip as the human shield. from our perspective, hamas is responsible for everything that is going on. the deaths and civilian reality
