i sat there for the five days -- i just listened to a podcast with katie porter where she was worriedt she might not win ultimately. >> should have called you. >> i was like, i wish katie porter had seen my analysis, she would have felt better. it was a mathematical certainty, if you have a passionate turnout, a catalyst, you're going to see that. but with the republicans, i expected, you know -- republicans vote. they're easier to vote in terms of their demographics. and also the republican party is just strategically superior to the democrats on how to get people to vote. but i didn't expect to see them maintain their turnout advantage, and in every district that i analyzed in a forth coming analysis, even though democratic turnouts are bigger, and it was a massive surge, they still underperformed the turnout of republicans. >> so you've now applied this to the electoral college map. and you're looking at the districts that -- basically areas within the electoral college map that say there's a lot of college-educated voters, there's the kind of voter profile that you say will turn o

so we have democrats like katie porter of orange county.to affect how she decides and she is in favor of an impeachment inquiry. up the road, you have a northern los angeles democrat. what she's saying is she's not ready to support an inquiry yet, but she wants to see the evidence. so she's leaving the door open. and it'll be democrats like hill that will be key to watch in the coming months. >> what is it about california? >> you know, you see california and think it's about the least competitive state you could get in politics. but when you get to the congressional districts, democrats flipped seven seats that were held by republicans. including four in orange county which has been a long-time republican stronghold. california really does illustrate this divide that we're seeing among freshman democrats in these districts. you know, it was kind of all of these members were in one place where you could kind of see that division and that grappling that you do when it comes to deciding what to do with impeachment. >> jeremy herb, thanks so m
