smith. drew, what have you learned about these several crashes that occurred? >> katy, good morning. we're actually on an overpass on the boulevard because it's really the only safe place to stand. can you see police are out holding the scene. all the northbound lanes are shut down. they have been that way for the last couple hours. in the past five minutes we saw them tow one of the badly mangled cars. we know emergency workers took several to the hospital. our cameras caught fire trucks. investigators tell us at least three wrecks. one car turned over in the northbound lane and another car in the same area closer to broad street. a 4-year-old girl was hurt and taken to the hospital. about four miles from there, another crash, at least three people taken to the hospital from that scene. cars have been backed up for miles here. some people we saw actually stopped their cars, turned off the engine and got out because they have just been waiting so long. as you see from our live picture, it looks like those are the first cars trying to leave the scene, at least one car coming out of th
