katty this is still fairly early for joe biden.ic blunder with our close and dear french allies. that seems to be a rift healing as well. what do they learn from mistakes made the last six to nine months and president xi not being at the g20 does that not provide joe biden some extra space to work harder at mending fences? and to have the stage to imself instead of sharing it with president xi? >> i think that's important. xi and putin not there and not in glasgow next week either. this is an area increasingly the whole area of climate change is one of economic and strategic competition. not having xi in glasgow is a disappointing thing. climate change activists buy in how much can you really change? but it is an opportunity, you're right, for joe biden to be the global superpower, the unfettered global superpower without the dpetician of president xi jinping breathing down his neck. he's not there and that's probably a loss for china and a win for this administration. >> jonathan lemire as we look at a shot at vatican city at 2:09

joining me right now, msnbc legal analyst danny se value cevallos, and katty kay.hat is the best case the biden administration can make that trump can't claim executive privilege? and is it strong enough to stand up to a legal challenge? >> the biden administration can say that they are not going to shield what they perceive as wrongdoing by the former president because when it comes to wrongdoing, even though we don't really know the full contours of executive privilege after the decades since the nixon cases, we know it exists. we don't know how far it goes, but we know this. it does not protect wrongdoing. but the biden administration must thread a needle here. they don't want to create a precedent that by simply invoking the word wrongdoing that congress can get ahold of presidential papers and testimony because what's good for the goose then becomes good for the gander and the biden administration knows that should they face a republican congress the same thing could happen to them. >> okay, but danny, the actual events that we're talking about they did occur

and katty kay, a well-known bbc host anchor who joined ozy this summer, resigned and advertisers bailed fast. ally financial just today saying it's pausing its business with ozy media hours before the company closed for good. all of this after "the new york times" reported one of many bombshell claims the first, a case of impersonation. the "times" says the company's co-founder pretended to be someone from youtube, playing up to potential investors about how successful ozy media was on the platform, quoting here "the company's chief operating officer impersonated a youtube executive on a call with goldman sachs. while attempting to raise money from the investment bank, a potential case of securities fraud. according to the "new york times," watson apologized to goldman sachs, said his colleague was having a mental breakdown. then there are the allegations of deception brad bessey, a former executive producer of "the carlos watson show" tells the "times" that wattson himself told him the show would eventually air on a&e. that never happened. toward the end of july mr. bessey got in touch
