katie marzullo is live on the campus where the tents are again but the crowd isn't.ow are the spirits there >> reporter: good morning. i'm good you asked. two things i want to show you. look down the slope at the group of protest there's remain. i would argue the mood has changed since the tents were removed when we first got on scene and that was happening. protesters were fired up, indignant and had a lot to say. after that a festive party mood, music being played, people dancing and stuff. now it is very, very quiet. some of those protesters have left. looks like just a few moments of maybe disorganization here before they get going again at a later hour. also, the cleanup efforts. police did move in they arrested two people and took down the tents on the sproul hall steps. what remains is a mess a lot of the stuff the students brought in to show they were camping out not only tents, a couch, piano, book shelf, those remain. crews are here, big dump truck is here. bulldozer is here. they are taking down all of those items. students even though it was a nonviolent

for another top story over to berkeley where katie is standing by. >> reporter: good morning.d still no action. take a look behind us here there are actually fewer protests many have leftover the last few hours. also fewer police officers. -- police have been here overnight the tents have been here since maybe 11:00 last night. this morning and the time wave been out here, we heard police make several announcements, every half hour or so, warning camper the tents were illegal and anyone who stayed could be subject to arrest. as time has passed police officers have left. they were never suited up in riot gear. campers voted hours ago they would stay. they were braced to stay. police just stayed on the perimeters. the problem out here was people didn't know what would happen last time protesters put up tents police moved in quickly there was some violence. protesters are accusing police of police brutality. that's what they were ready for this morning. it has not happened, not even close. everyone has stayed quiet. police have kept their distance. the biggest announcement we hea

katie joins us with a preview. ro >> reporter: we are live at the hotel vendors just starting to arrive and set up this is the second job fair in as many days. we were in concord yesterday, about 400 people showed up. this one is going to be bigger. it is more diverse, a lot more companies showing up and a lot of openings in customer service and administrative openings. i want to introduce stephanie simmons with manpower one of the companies that is going to be inside. how many people and what kind of jobs are you going to fill? >> we are working on 25 openings. the jobs range from entry level bookcasing to sales management. >> reporter: things are looking good or better? >> they are. manpower's outlook survey for the bay area shows about a net 8% increase in employers want to hire through the end of the year which is still guarded. but it is looking up. >> reporter: wonderful. thank you for joining us. manpower just one of several companies here today to he did had you fan a new job. 185 positions open here today.

katie marzullo joins us. >> reporter: he said if he thought he was going to get arrested he would have worn a coat and tie that is what he typically does and he would know he's 80-years-old and has been arrested 80 times. with all of that experience he was surprised to learn that students were bracing for police tactics like pepper spray and maybe worse. students knew to prepare for the worst. >> we are going to hold out now >> reporter: they put up tents overnight and voted to link arms and not let police break up their camp as they did one week ago. >> the difference between now and then is now we're more organized and ready to fight. fight not in a physical sense, but fight for our rights. >> reporter: occupiers prepared for tear gas as rumors spread that was the new police tactic. a high profile camper and activist elseburg who released the pentagon papers joined the occupies last night. >> somebody offered me a gas mask last night. in america? in a peaceful rally, i need a gas mask? didn't make sense. i didn't like the sound of. >> reporter: it never came to be police officer rema
