kristen and katy -- katie? >> in the last hour firefighters cleared the scene following an early morning house fire and abc7 news reporter joins us to tell us about that. matt? >> you can see the content damage by the fire in the home, the contents are in the front yard. the home owner is cleaning the car. this started at 1:00 o'clock and the family actually thought it was a burglary. >> we heard crackling and breaking sounds and originally thought maybe someone was breaking in so the owner found the garage on fire and they called 9-1-1. >> firefighters say when they arrived the fire had spread to the attic and they pulled out three motorcycle but a classic chevrolet was damned. the husband, wife, two sons and a dog all got out safe. they told the firefighters they would not need the help of red cross. the firefighters would not put a dollar amount on the damage but it is extensive because of the water used and the need to bring down the ceiling. no word on the cause of the fire. firefighters are investigating.

. >> i would like to welcome katie to walk you through the report which starts on page 11 of your packet. >> thank you. >> good morning, to the members of the committee, my name is katie keneco, i am the president of cough and associates and the manager for this study. thank you. that we performed for san francisco county transportation authority. i want to talk to you about the process and the methodology for this study before we begin, a compensation study we work to determine three variables, one is which agencies we are going to be studying as part of this process. and we chose seven agencies that we felt best represented the labor market for the authority. we were looking at factors that just focus services and population serves and ties to the agency and budget, and geographic proximity is important with the bay area being a fairly distinct market. the seven that we chose are alamena transportation, san francisco municipal agency, conser authority, and lngs tras pourtation, mtc, sanmatao, and the santa clara valley, transportation authority. we also needed to work with the agency t

(applause) >> thanks, katy and thank you to supervisor mar. my name is mark farrell from district 2 which covers the northern part of our city here in san francisco. and this year had the pleasure of serving as our budget and finance committee chair. so, we'll be intimately involved in this budget process with the mayor, with our department heads, and with my fellow supervisors. it's an honor to be part of this process and to be leading it in city hall. i really want to thank all the department heads and the mayor, my fellow supervisors for being here today. but this is really about you and hearing from you about what your concerns are, both in district 1 and district 4. and, so, i will keep my comments short here and look forward to hearing from each and every one of you. and i think you should know that all of us are very committed to having an open and inclusive budget process and it really starts today. so, thank you all for being here.
