ktvu's katy eustis with what might be movement in the case. >> family is starting to arrive. we are an hour out from the vigil. the police department forwarded their investigation to the district attorney's office. exactly what that means officers would not elaborate on but it is movement in the case of the missing toddler. >> reporter: another mystery surrounding the death. her father. he committed suicide in may. we spoke with the coroner's office which is not releasing the cause of the death yet. he reported her missing a year ago today. he parked at a store at 79th and international. he left the 21-month-old girl in the car with his mother who suffers from dementia. he told police when he returned from the store she was gone. there was an extensive search of the area. at one point police released suspect information of a woman seen with a baby matching the description. investigators arrested him on suspicion of child endangerment but charges were never files. the grandparents say his death has only pushed them further from the answers they seek. >> reporter: i have a call
