katy zachry live in warrington. >>> the spill is under control. the hazmat teams behind me are still on the scene trying to clean up the massive mess that happened here at the intersection of 611 and easton road and where it crosses with freedom way. this happened around 8:00 last night at this very busy intersection. tractor trail early overturned and spilled about 4,000 gallons of fuel it was hauling. that fuel spilled on the road. people living nearby, about 75 people in total had to evacuate to a nearby school. the red cross as you said at the top of this story is there assisting those people with overnight sleeping accommodations, food, water. that sort of thing. the shelter i'm told is expected to run through this morning. they are still waiting on bucks county emergency officials to give them the all clear that 75 people can go back to home again. they live right along this stretch of route 611 and freedoms way where the spill happened last night. we asked the officials who were investigating this crash and were here on scene what led to th

reporting live, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. >>> breaking overnight. plane slams into the roof of a maul in melbourne australia. look at the video. learned four americans have been killed. nbc 10 pamela osborne joins us live in the breaking news center. pam, seeing new video of the crash now. tell us what happened. >> reporter: officials in victoria australia have described this tragedy at the state's worst aviation accident in 30 years. five people including four americans were killed when a chartered plane crashed into a shopping mall in melbourne. this is brand new dash cam video taken moments after the plane went down. see a massive fire ball in the distance there and a plume of black smoke. happened before 9:00 a.m. local time, by the way, was an hour before the mall was set to open to the public. here's what we know. the plane was taking off from a nearby airport. investigator say right before takeoff, a may day was called in. local media reporting the pilot was an experienced aviator in his 60s. learned late this morning two of the passengers we

westchester beginning to feel the impact of the storm. >> nbc10's katy zachry joins us live. katy, i'm seeing snow, it's changing over, right? >> reporter: right, as expected. 4:00 a.m., it was rain, 5:00 a.m., snow, just agency meteorologists were forecasting, 5:00 a.m. is when we would see the snow start. i've got to tell you, it's so much nice tore have the big fluffy snowflakes, rather than the driving rain and sleet we had. this is what it's doing out there in westchester. we're right along route 3. here in the pavement, it's just wet. a little slippery, not too much. here on the grass, you can see -- i mean, it's more than a dusting. it's definitely more than a dusting. this is just the last 15 minutes when it started snowing. this is route 3, a very busy stretch throughout this part. but a lot of people are heeding the warning that we've been giving them since yesterday. staying off the roads, we're mostly just seeing plows. i did talk to a plow driver nearby fuelling up, he's getting ready for a busy next several hours. we'll have his comments. i do want to tell you,

nbc 10 katy zachry live on the scene. us up to speed on this. >>> reiterate really good news just in time for the morning rush. southbound on 611 passes by freedoms way. this area was closed off for hours overnight. just within the last hour southbound lanes have reopened to traffic. unfortunately the northbound side crews are still on the scene working hard to clean up what's left of this fuel spill. it was a massive one. 4,000 gallons of fuel spilled on to route 611 and seeped into the storm sewer system. seeped the driver of the tanker truck was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. 75 people living in the raerl were sent to red cross shelter set up inside a school because of concerns over the fuel. they have since been allowed to return home. i'm told investigator are looking into whether black ice and slick road conditions played a part into the crash that happened around 8:00 last night, and, of course, led to that tanker overturning and spilling the 4,000 gallons of fuel it was hauling. about two hours ago the

nbc 10 katy zachry live for us. tell us what's happening right now. >> reporter: behind me is the scene of the fuel spill. very active cleanup happening here at route 611 and freedoms way. this is blocked the traffic. last night's massive fuel spill took place around 75 people who live around us were forced from their homes because of this. the crash, which led to the spill, happened a little before 8:00. right here route 611 or easton road and freedom's way. tractor trailer hauling 4,000 gallons of fuel overturned, spilling it on to the road. dozens of families living nearby was evacuated to a school. the red cross is there this morning as those people try and get some rest while they're out of their homes. >> stiemometimes this can be a really stressful situation for people particularly if they have some kind of underlying medical condition. we want to make sure they're safe and comfortable while they're here. >> reporter: tells us they're waiting on officials to give them the all-clear this route will open. they'
