here now is jason brooks with kcbs and cbsmoneywatch.com.good morning. >> good morning, sydnie. good morning, juliette. the focus is over on asia this morning. a lot of worries that china is going to start raising interest rates soon after word that consumer side inflation there rose much more than expected in october. housing market in particular is a potential bubble. and if china does raise interest rates, that would limit consumer borrowing and spending and that could hurt exports coming from other countries. also, the g20 summit wrapped up in seoul south korea and really no concrete agreements coming on how to prevent other countries from devaluing their currency. in fact, a lot of countries upset with the united states after the feds' move to buy up to $600 billion worth of u.s. treasuries. that could pressure the dollar lower making u.s. goods cheaper overseas which could help u.s. manufacturers. that news not helping wall street which fell yesterday down by 30. nasdaq is down by 8. s&p off by 5. cisco shares are coming back a little

and as we have heard earlier from kcbs, definitely called in to our radio station, kcbs radio stationhe was distraught over a marital situation and that he was in fact armed. as a result of this, chp shut down traffic leading into san francisco. there was a backup. traffic was light today because of veterans day holiday. with traffic stopped on the bridge there is a backup. if you are heading into san francisco for whatever reason, it looks like vehicles are trying to turn around. this bus might be trying to head out eastbound on the upper deck. but let's check in with elizabeth wenger to find out some alternate for you if you need to head into the city. traffic is blocked before you get to the bridge. unfortunately, some people got stuck as you can see here on the upper deck and they are trying to turn around heading eastbound. we have been hearing of drivers trying to get on treasure island and then loop around and try to get back on the lower deck. lower deck traffic is open. they are staging at the fifth street on-ramp, chp. so that's blocked. but yeah, unfortunately, a lot of car

kcbs radio's matt bigler joins us with more on who is threatening to pull funding.att, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, sydnie. well, we're talking about house republicans who have been emboldened after their recent midterm election victory. they have introduced a bill, the american recovery and reinvestment recision act, that would basically take back all of the stimulus funding that hasn't been spent yet. and the biggest chunk of that is right here in california, $2 billion allocated to the state's high-speed rail project. republicans want to take the money to put it back in the us treasury to fight the multitrillion dollar u.s. deficit. it sounds like a threat to california's high-speed rail project because the project needs that cash to start construction in 2012 in addition to the $2 billion in matching funds from the state. but the bottom line is, this bill is not likely to get anywhere past the house. the senate is still controlled by democrats. and it would require president obama's signature. and the president has said that high-speed rail pr

on the phone now is holly quan with kcbs radio. >> reporter: good morning.f this three-year deal that was reached through arbitration, there are 1750 a.c. transit drivers and mechanics will give up one holidays veterans, which is tomorrow, and the pay into the health and pension plans, 6% the first year, 5% the second and 3% the last. a.c. transit district spokesman clarence johnson says this will save the agency $13 million a year and give them time to strategize on how to do more with fewer resources. the district has already cut service by 15%. it was planning to cut weekend service by half starting next month, costing 90 union jobs. the cuts are now on hold but because the district is still looking at a $38 million deficit over the next three years, officials say cuts are inevitable in 2011. the agreement takes effect immediately. >> so there won't be any immediate service cuts, is that right? >> reporter: absolutely. so that's good for the riders. because this agreement was reached through arbitration, it does take effect immediately bald cuts that were

this video from a kcbs traffic copter shot at sunset shows what looks like a missile soaring into the sky dangerously close to the coastline just off los angeles. at one point the unidentified flying object streaks through the clouds. spewing black smoke and what appears to be flames shooting out the back. the video sent the u.s. military into a frenzy. for hours, frantic heated phone calls flew between the pentagon and norad trying to figure out just what was this mystery object. the pentagon officials say the video is the only indication of a possible missile shot. the navy and air force strongly deny they fired a missile and using satellite imagery, north come and norad had no launch. it looks like it's through a heavy traffic area around los angeles. faa officials tell nbc news they reviewed the air traffic control tapes and those radar replays did not reveal a fast-moving object in that area. and at the same time, there were no reports of any unusual sightings from pilots. so then, what is it? military missile expert john pike believes it's an airplane, likely a jumbo jet and the
