last night, the body of 26-year-old trooper david kedra was placed into a hearst and escorted by his family. the shooting happened yesterday at the montgomery county public safety training camp in conshohocken. state troopers and county authorities have been working the case overnight. nbc 10's jesse gary will have a live update on that coming up this morning at 6:30. >>> we have new information this morning about philadelphia police shooting at a group of men last night. skyforce10 was over wister near chelten avenue in germantown around 9:30. the officers approached three men, thinking that one of them was wanted. well, the suspects took off running and during the chase, one suspect pulled out a gun. an officer fired at him. they don't believe any of the men were hit. all of them got away. >>> happening today, a former philadelphia police officer will be arraigned on charges that she forced her children to fight other kids and even participated in fights herself. last month, tamika gross was ordered held on charges including corruption of minors, assault and child endangerment. inv

investigators say an instructor shot trooper kedra in the chest during an accident during a trainingsion. so far police have not released the name of the instructor. >> new this morning, a man has been stabbed to death inside an east mount airy home and another man who lives in the home told police he knows the killer. the action cam outside the home on the 200 block of east philomena street. the witness told police that the 33-year-old man broke through a basement window to get to the witness' second floor bedroom. the witness said the 54-year-old homeowner saw the suspect and confronted him. that's when the suspect stabbed the homeowner in the neck and back and then ran off. officers found a trail of blood from the basement window to the second floor, then outside the house and down the street but so far there are no arrests. >>> also new this morning, investigators say a philadelphia police officer opened fire on a suspect late last night. the incident happened on the 5700 block of crittendon street. police say officers were running after two armed suspects when one of the suspect

family and friends gathered to remember david kedra at christ the king church in northeast philadelphia. hundreds of law enforcement colleagues also turned out in support of kedra and family and a private burial followed the service today. in northeast pennsylvania police have been following up on suspected cop-killer eric frein and he continues to elude them as he has for three weeks now. the "action news" reporter walter perez has the latest on this. >> investigators found a letter believed handwritten by alleged cop-killer eric frein. "abc news" is reporting that it was found somewhere within the five square mile search zone in price and berra townships. a law enforcement official familiar with the case tells "abc news" the letter does not spell out a motive for the killing of brian dix yn and wounding of trooper alex douglass and does entail certain details about the case that leave authorities to believe frein is the person that wrote. it meantime state police, fbi and k-9 units come the area one day after the most recent possible sighting of this most wanted fugitive. >> we spoke
