good evening, i'm keith jones. nbc 10's jim rosenfield is monitoring this breaking news that's happening in france. jim, these numbers keep getting worse. >> yeah, keith, you just mentioned within the last half hour police have updated the death toll to 35. it's a fluid situation in paris, this all after several shootings and explosions in paris. we've also learned that about 100 hostages are said to be being held at a concert hall in the 11th arrondissement. there's also been a shooting in a paris restaurant. this is video from that scene. police officials say more than ten people killed here at that restaurant. there's also been an explosion in a bar near a stadium, where france and germany where playing a soccer match. france's president, francois hollande was at the game and is meeting with a crisis team in paris. it's unclear if there were causalities at the bar incident near the stadium. back here in the u.s., of course, homeland security is monitoring this situation closely out of paris. president obama was

good evening, i'm keith jones. >> and i'm denise nakano. this is a suspected mastermind behind friday's attack. french officials say he's a belgian national with known terror connections. today isis released a new video threatening to carry out an attack in washington, d.c. french war planes launched another air strike against isis targets in their capital city of rakka as president obama defended his strategy to take down the terrorist group. the president says his strategy will be intensified going forward, but will keep u.s. troops off the ground. nbc 10's jim rosenfield was on the ground in paris less than 24 hours after the attack. >> he files this report now from paris. >> we are united against this threat. isil is the face of evil. >> reporter: addressing the g-20 nations in turkey, president obama stood by his long-term strategy for defeating isis, saying more american troops on the ground would be a mistake. >> we have the right strategy and we're going to see it through. >> reporter: some questioned the president's strategy today

governor romney, i'm keith jones. the u.s. military says six americanss recue from that hotel and president obama says he is monitoring the situation. islamic extremist gunmen took control of the radisson blu in mali's capital bam co-early this morning. bamako. there were 170 hostages, 140 guests, 30 hotel workers. the gunmen opened fire and some witnesses say they used grenades, killing three people. mali and state tv reports security forces have freed 80 of the hostages so far. children knees tourists inside the hotel took this video. hoo these are photos of what was happening around the hotel. one hostage said the attackers allowed him to leave after he recited verses from the koran and witnesses say the ten gunmen yelled "god is great" when they stormed the hotel. it's not immediately clear which muslim extremist group may be behind the attack. the u.s. embassy advised americans to shelter in place. we'll bring you more updates on the area and nbc 10 as well as the app as soon as we get them. >>> this, of course, comes a w

>> doesn't look bad at all, keith. we're going to see improvements aside from one area of rain that we're watching. most of us have really dried up pretty nicely. it's going to get breezy ov overnight. now we have another batch of rain around williamsport and this will be moving into the lehigh valley within the next couple of hours, but staying north of philadelphia. nothing very heavy. it will get windy, though, into tomorrow. here's the big weather system we've been talking about. the wind is going to increase through your day tomorrow, even gusting near 40 miles an hour and then by the weekend that wind direction is going to shift giving us an even colder weekend forecast. through the next couple hours, there's the rain moving through the lehigh valley area and temperatures by then will be in about the mid 50s still. and by 11:00 we all really start to dry up nicely. winds will be increasing into your morning tomorrow, temperatures by 11:00 p.m. upper 40s for parts of the lehigh valley, around 53 degrees for philad

the driver's age, keith? >> that's right, we just learned the guy in that car right there, 15 years old. he was behind the wheel of a stolen chevy tahoe. you see him going around traffic, cutting people off, then going down the wrong way. speeding by the homes before then finally returning to the wrong side of the road there, a main road at least, and cuts over that barrier. eventually the driver starts having tire trouble, you see him spin out right here and minutes later he loses that tire. he starts driving on his rim. of course, when you're driving on a rim you can't go very fast and police eventually surround him. officers jumped out with weapons drawn, yanked the driver to the ground, handcuffed him and as i just mentioned we just learned the driver is 15 years old. he hasn't been identified just yet, and despite clipping some cars along the way, no one was hurt and there was minimal damage here. keith jones, nbc 10 news. >>> happening now, a jury is deciding if chaka fattah jr. is guilty of fraud. both
