a car ran into keith elliott yesterday morning in tom's river and just kept going. nbc 10 jersey shore reporter ted greenberg spoke with elliott's parents and sister. tonight they have a strong message for that driver who still hasn't come forward had. >> it's terrible. it's every mother's worst nightmare. >> reporter: his loved ones were unwrapping christmas presents. instead of keith elliott enjoying the celebration with his parents, sister and nieces, the police showed up to say the tom's river man was dead. >> we're still numb. we really haven't been able to process it. >> reporter: tom's river police think the 45-year-old was struck and killed by a hit and run driver around 10:30 christmas morning, right up the street from the local bus terminal. it's believed elliott was walking there to catch a bus to his sister's house in leahy township where the rest of the family was already gathered for the holiday. >> for somebody to hit you and not even have a heart to stop, it's heartless. >> an absolutely animal. >> terrible. that's an animal that does that. >> report
