kelley. and just a couple of questions. >> yes. >> first i am really glad that manning department and sfuc is sitting down and actually in my recollection, i think that it is the first time that this has ever happened and it is actually a positive because since the 80s what we have seen is a declining population up to 6 or 7 years ago when it started to stud j and we start to see a grow growth back into usfusd and some that was initially some of the factors that was initially slated to was actually that the economy had gone down hill and many parents, you know, were choosing public schools because of the affordable option for them to stay in the city and but now as the economy comes back into swing, we are seeing that enrollment continues to grow and there is a positive trend of not just families staying in san francisco, but the families who stay here choosing to go to public school, which i think says a lot about the achievements that the school district has made. i am curious if the planni

we interact with the corporations i think that is the same that we want to do and i want to thank kelley the city administration here because i think that she above all else, just like i was, we have to care about our infrastructure and just like we delivered the wi-fi for the residents on treasure island and sometimes they feel isolated out there and the 2005 and the residents there. and low income and the veterans have better wi-fi because of what we are doing with the private sector and what we are doing to increase our technology and i have to actually say that it is really, not only a thank you, to google, and to the 32... that they have but we are always asking the next question and that is for all of us, we are excited to ask google what is next, and because that is always going to be a foreign looking thing and who else can we help in this city and, what else can we do to help the senior and to help the family and the people who succeed to help our public housing residents and to help the veterans in the city and how can we succeed even more ininclusively at being a great city th

. >> good evening, again, i'm dennis kelley president of the united educators in san francisco, in june you took an action to take the negotiations between the teachers and para professionals to imp as s and by going to that everything was put in the hands of a mediater and that means that the meetings have been stopped and we have not made the progress on the contract negotiations up until now, we are very hopeful, that we will have a negotiated contract and that we will have it very soon, we are very hopeful that once again, the teachers and para professionals who are very concerned about the contract, will be able to turn their attention to doing the kind of work that they want to do to make this the best possible school district. and that is a delay that you put in, the delay that you called for, with the impass, is a problem. and it is, and it means that, we have not made any significant advance on getting a contract done. and now, we think that it is significant that mr. scarlato have been able to sit down and talk about these things and we will bring together the bargaining teams

kelley just gave us a presentation of projected housing units at about 97,000 or 92,000 and so we are seeing even a 20,000 different in our projections, and so i think that this is really, shows sort of like we need to get on the same page and so there are some other things that i think that we need to be aware of that we are speaking about the increased residency of san francisco. one is that the infrastructure for systems to support the current assignment system and how will the new, residents of san francisco or the patterns actually where you see, we have an increase of population, in areas where we really don't have a lot of schools. and what does our student assignment process, or just the process needs to look like in order to i guess, add to the increased mobility of sff san franciscans and also about the residents who live here and so that is one consideration that we are always looking at is a student assignment and how it effects the larger population of san francisco. and also, the families that are here, and another thing is about our school facilities bonds and if we see

kelley mchenry of public station unc-tv reports the new regulations have left some voters scratchingir heads. >> reporter: at a recent voter education forum in granville county, it was clear there is much confusion about the state's new voting law. >> where can you get free i.d.'s? >> reporter: it's not surprising there's confusion. over the last few weeks there has been a flurry of court appeals and decisions which first upheld, then reversed, then upheld again the new requirements. the new voter law includes: a photo i.d. requirement, a ban on same-day registration, no out-of-precinct voting, and a reduction in the number of early voting days. all of the rules took effect this year, with the exception of the photo i.d., which starts in 2016. the law was passed in 2013 by a newly elected republican legislature and the changes are bitterly dividing voters. >> i'm very concerned about it. i think the turn-out will be lower. i think folks will be frustrated and they won't understand and they won't come to vote. >> i think the changes are being made to make the whole voting process more
