for more, i'm joined by former us attorney for the southern district of new york, david kelley.f hundreds of 6january cases on the docket. there are defendants who were charged in 2021 who have yet to go to trial. is a speedy trial even possible? that is a really good question. the civil trials are not ones at which he needs to appear personally, the criminal ones of those at which he needs to be present stop its really hard to see how it's all going to shake out. for instance, a documents case, while it is set for may 2a, still too early to tell in the process with pre—trial motions and discovery, whether or not it will go. with his new indictment, typically you can count on a trial going about a year after indictment. we will see if that holds the case here. the reason why only one defendant was charged in this case was in order to try to get it to trial faster than if they had tried or charged other defendants. i think for instance, the co—conspirators who may be charged later. it's really hard to see how it's going to shake out in terms of the schedule. what's interesting wi
