tim calkins, a clinical professor of marketing and northwestern universities kellogg school of managementyour insights. this has been a bit confusing, in terms of what is happening to these companies, and what the response has been. i want to ask you off the bat, why do companies engage in this printing? is it virtue signaling? or, is there more to try to enhance the brand, and, by extension, the bottom line? >> well, i think there are two things that are usually behind it. one is, in some ways, it is about reaching out to consumers, and about engaging with consumers, trying to bring more people to these brands. the other piece is, in many cases, a sense of being progressive, and of being welcoming, and doing good in the world. i think there is, often, these two things when you see these companies to make moves like this, to engage, and to reach out. >> interesting to see the backlash, in many different corners, to some of these corporate campaigns. i want to have a bit of a throwback here. three decades ago, actually. let's talk about bud light. we should point out, it has had a long ass
