. >> anjuli: this time it's at their plant city phosphate facility and that's where we find kellie cowan. what do we know so far? >> reporter: we know it spilled yesterday morning and because of new regulations implemented by governor scott after the alarms, just a month ago we learned mosaic at the new wales plant facility in mulberry spilled 215 million gallons of contaminated radioactive water into the florida aquifer after a sinkhole opened up on its site. now, after that occurred, new regulations were put into place that required companies that deal with contamination, deal so that's how we're finding out about this spill here in plant city. yesterday morning 50,000 gallons of water, contaminated with foss for rick acid was spilled into the ground after a pump malfunction on site. of course, the plant in new wales, all the surrounds properties were t so far those tests have come back negative. no highlighted or higher levels of radiation off-site. they say in both scenarios the spills are contained to their sites, so there shouldn't be a threat of these spills leaving the site at th

fox 13's kellie cowan is live >> reporter: well, right now we have a lot of crews on the scene this morning as we begin day two of the search-and-rescue effort for this missing boater. we have the coast guard helicopter circling overhead this morning. tampa police dive units are on the scene as well as florida fish and wildlife officials. i want to bring your attention this way off of the boat ramp on the courtney campbell ca causeway where the rescue effort has been concentrated this morning where that boat was sinking yesterday after now what we know is that rescuers are looking for a man that went under water yesterday just after 3:00. the man was on a rental boat with his fiancee when that boat hit a sand bar and got stuck. he jumped overboard to push the boat off of the sand bar but then went underwater. the boat drifted as he att attempted to remain afloat, resurfacing twice. when he didn't come up a third we are told by tampa fire rescue officials that nearby bystanders tried to help out the man and his fiancee, and jumped in the water as well, but simply could not find the man. so w

fox 13's kellie cowan is live at courtney campbell causeway this morning. and we understand that crews are out there right now? >> reporter: yeah, per pulling up as we speak. we have already seen the coast guard helicopter circling overhead. florida fish and wildlife stayed out overnight just to have one boat on the water, but the majority of the search had to be suspended overnight when now that the sun is back up, they are getting back on the water. the tampa police dive team just behind me, loading up their boat right now. as you mentioned u.s. coast guard and florida fish and w wildlife officials already on the water. we expect to see more crews as the morning goes by. but the focus of this search area is right here just off the courtney campbell causeway boat ramp where rescuers are looking for a man who went under yesterday just about around 3:00. the man was in a rental boat with hit a sand bar. he jumped overboard to try to push the boat off the sand bar but he went under water. the boat drifted as he attempted to remain afloat, resurfacing twice, b
