kellie cowan is liar at 275 and fowler avenue. what do we know? >> kellie: the details are scant from florida highway patrol, but they confirmed that a tow truck driver was killed in an accident overnight that occurred just off of fowler ear near the accident on 275. dh has beens just after this morning. several lanes were shut down overnight. everything has sin re-opened this morning. this fatal crash comes about a month after another crash that killed a different tow truck driver on i-75. that crash involved a driver who was allegedly drunk behind the wheel when he slammed into tow truck driver troy mcguire back in october. he was on the side of the road assisting law enforcement at the time, and this is just another he move over law. that's what tow truck drivers always stress every time we cover an unfortunate incident. the move-over law, of course, requires drivers if it's safe to do so to move over an entire lane of traffic to give any kind of law enforcement officer, emergency responders and yes, even tow truck drivers the room to safely do

fox 13's kellie cowan joins us from the entrance from that park. kellie, this all stemmed from a tip. a lot of activity as the investigation continues. >> reporter: yeah, the investigation in fact has just started back up again into this park and will have to shut darkness fell. but now that the sun is up, a lot of vehicles, forensic vehicles driving back into the park. the park, by the way, is completely closed you off to everyone. we have seen a lot of people hoping to go out on the water and just enjoy green key park and they are having to turn right around and head back, and we are being kept out as well; however, yesterday we were inside the park during part of the investigation before it was completely cleared. to capture some of the scene as well as our fox 13 crew who was there yesterday before the area was cleared. now yesterday, cadaver dogs alerted to a specific area inside the park, and once they did, green key was completely closed off. now detectives right now are working closely with usf forensic anthropologists on this search, and th

fox 13's kellie cowan is live this morning from clearwater beach with the details on this incredible event. i understand you have a special guest this morning. >> reporter: i sure do, guys. this is actually one of the wounded warriors that will be not just the wounded warrior. you opted to have your hand amputated but you are not a veteran. you are still active in the military. can you tell us about that. >> my name is captain duval. i am still active duty. still in the 101st airborne, second brigade come bacteria team. when i got blown up, i had a broken leg, arm that was broken in three places, and they tried to salvage my thumb and wrist bones. what we ended doing took that with the prosthetics.and went to the unit and a platoon leader with the grace of some absolutely fantastic comm commanders. i decided that the thumb wasn't working out and if i wanted to stay in the army i needed more of an amputation. i went back and asked my doctors and cut it off at about the wrist and that's what i did because prosthetics are a lot better with guys who are cut i have been helping -- helping

fox 13's kellie cowan joins us from bradenton... where that clinic is ?already underway this morning. kellie? >> good morning. well right now there's no line here, but the parking lot is absolutely packed. so, i can only imagine how busy it is in there. but, as you mentioned, organizrs telling us this morning they could have helped a weekend if not for florida state law. they say that a florida law prevents doctors from practicing in florida if they are from another state. if they are not licensed in florida, and that includes practicing at even free events like this one. since friday morning, manatee technical college has turned into a one-stop-shop for medical treatment thanks to this three-day remote area medical clinic. they are offering services from general practitioners eye exams, h.i.v. tests and they have hundreds of volunteers on hand ready to help. but as i mentioned, organizers are saying they have helped more than 800 people in the bay area. but right now, that floridaility state law is preventing them from helping a lot more. they say they h
