megyn: "kelly's court" is back in session. john edwards is finally getting his day in court.wyers there getting ready to argue over whether he used campaign funds to cover up an affair with a woman who wound up having his child. how does this case look for him? joining me, mark eiglarsh a defense attorney and kimberly bill foil. they said it would never happen. he tried to make it not happen. we heard about health problem after health problem. they denied there was a grand jury investigation. there was, he has been charged and he will face a jury of his peers. how does the case look for the government? >> i think it looks good for the government. they have assembled evidence and facts on their behalf. these are serious charges. it's no laughing matter what john edwards is looking at. it's no surprise he was trying to delay the case. he's looking at $250,000 fines on each of these and five years behind bars. the prosecutor if he is convicted, mr. edwards could look at serving all this time consecutively and be in prison for a long period of time. megyn: you can go before a jur

kelly, thanks. >> this was another dramatic day in a court room in greensboro, north carolina. at the john edwards trial, the prosecution star witness was once again on the stand, telling more stories about just how far he says she was asked to go to cover up the money trail and hide an affair. and as nbc's lisa myers reports tonight, the witness came under tough questioning from the edwards defense team. >> edwards' longtime aide and now chief accuser andrew young, arrived today knowing his credibility would come under attack, and it did. he admitted discrepancies between his tell-all book and his testimony under oath. saying he rushed the book and has had more time for research. but edwards' lawyer showed the jury young's book proposal with its claim that every word in the book is provably true. and pilloried young with a long list of misstatements and inconsistencies, including he claim that edwards didn't call his mistress the day their child was born. do you know in fact john edwards called her in the delivery room? young said he wasn't aware of the call. at one point, lowell said, you really
