weeks, i know that he has been receiving increased pressure from his outside allies, people like kellyanne conway, his former aide, less senator lindsey graham. people from antiabortion groups, all pressuring him to clarify his position on this. and it's something that his team, who really had been wanting him to remain vague on our starting to acknowledge that luck he's going to have the do this at some point. i do want to just read you a quick quote from one of his top advisers who told me essentially what i'm laying out here. he said, quote, the democrats are making a big point of making abortion. what they're going to go after us on. it's clear at some point he would need to spell out exactly where he stood on the issue. it's either do it now or later. i think from a pr standpoint, it's probably better to do it now. and also i can tell you, dana, that for weeks now, donald trump's team has policy team, i should say, have been preparing some policy language on this. however, it's still unclear exactly what he's going to do because again, he's been kind of waffling between floating a 15

if kellyanne conway takes the stand i bet she has negative things to say about michael cohen. maybe hope hicks two. and what you do as a defense lawyer, not my profession, ards, but i've seen enough good ones inaction when it comes down for closing go folks. their own witnesses, the first guy they put in front of you, david pecker, said that their star witness is prone to exaggeration if you find that he exactly related to this case is over. so that's a really smart and effective tactic like michael cohen can be restored as the star witness so easily because people forget or maybe don't forget that he pled guilty to the same scheme that trump is now being put on trial for and people generally as a defense lawyer do not plead guilty to things they didn't do. that plea is locked in. he took a three-year jail sentence for the acts that he claimed in open court when he entered his plea. i did this at the direction of donald trump and you just can't get around that no matter or how bad the defense makes. michael cohen look, and it's going to be a slug fest when he gets on the stand

possible witnesses who could be called bold names from the trump white house days hope hicks and kellyanne conway. specifically when you look at hope hicks, what can her testimony provide, compare that to other witnesses that we know are likely to be called like michael collin so there are two things about who picks that i think make her a potentially a very powerful witness. first of all, she's the ultimate insider and most significantly for this case, she apparently is on some of those key phone calls that are happening between and among donald trump, michael cohen and others when they are first arranging for these payments to be made to stormy daniels in 26 16, keep in mind the payments themselves are not illegal. it's the falsification of records around those payments. so we don't know whether she has information about either of those things, but it appears she was part of crucial conversations. the other thing about hope to hope hicks is she is still more or less in the trump camp. she has not a defector who has publicly turned on donald trump and earned his ire like a michael cohen.
