the linn-mar girls swimming team is happy to have one of their top swimmers back, kelsey drake. she took last year off to focus on the olympic trials where she qualified for the 100 butterfly. in her sophomore year, she was a 200 individual medley. now in her senior year, she's all smiles. kelsey cummings was driving on zika avenue on the northwest side of cedar rapids in march of 2015. she says was almost home when she hit a patch of ice, and crossed the center line of traffic. she hit a hollow pipe gate, that went through her lower body. cummings told t-v nine that she had a drink earlier that evening but says she wa cummings was in a wheelchair for about a year after the crash. this past march, she had hip replacement surgery, and has since been able to walk with crutches. cummings says she's now focused on being a mother.
