joining us now is kelvin adams, he is the superintendent of st. louis public schools.ank you so much for being with us and talking about what you're dealing with and so many other districts are as well. what's causing this shortage and how long is this going to last? >> first of all, good morning and thank you. we anticipate this this shortage will last approximately two weeks. we are working with our local vendor who provides transportation for us to get enough drivers through the certification process for drivers in the next two weeks to accommodate this eight schools and the 3,300 students who will be impacted. >> what if it goes on for longer than that? can you just keep giving out the $75 cards to help people? >> well, we are providing $75 cards to elementary parents, which is about 600 and bus passes meaning a metro bus by state that we're providing students transportation to school, so there is option to both but we believe that two weeks will be the sunset of this and by september 6 we should be in a position where those 35 routes that we are not running right
