we're getting there with kemper and with boundary dam. we haven't integrated all of this technology. we know about it but we haven't integrated it into functioning commercial sized power systems. we'll get there but we're not there yet but the biggest impediment, and i think all of us again agree on think the driver, the market driver here, isn't there with low-cost, very abundant, very affordable natural gas and it is not there because our economy isn't bubbling at 90% also. so when you put all of those factors together it is not hard to conclude that the drivers here for technology development don't really exist for a variety of reasons particularly with respect to something at least the users of that technology, at least in this country view it as pretty risky stuff. and i won't try to go into and cost and values of all of that. but i would like to spend just a minute excoing what bob said before. we have been very successful in using technology as the fulcrum to insure that we have a more environmentally pure world or environmentally

this is one of our favorite projects, the kemper project. this is a success in many ways.part of that is we're scaling up a useful technology. it took us 25 years to develop that. we're testing it now at scale. this is a 582 megawatt power plant, a big plant, and the thing i want to draw your attention to is really two things. one is that little black pile in the corner. they're mining local lig night and coal. they're mining that at $10 a ton. they've got an 80-year supply. it is an incredibly cheap source of fuel for this plant. and in this part of the country where they need to maintain resilience due to weather disruptions and all these other sorts of things, a southern company thought this was an important component of their portfolio. this is a net water positive power plant. this water plant produces water. part of the reason is they have to dry the coal to make it work. when they do they recover the water and return it to the environment. we don't often think of fossil energy plant as sources of water but, in fact, they put water into the environment. that's one of
