i'm ken bastida. we are setting and getting ready for the big game tomorrow between the 49ers and the seahawks. there has been a lot of talk on both sides as you well know. 49er fans, before we left the city, though, we wanted to kind of just gauge the feelings of the common man. we found george. george runs the park view liquors in san francisco. we just wanted to ask him a regular guy ha he thought about the outcome of this game. here is what he had to say. >> i know my team. i am following my team since 1989. i know the niners very well. and i have a feeling the niners are going there, and are going to crush them man. when they are mad, oh boy. don't mess with them. they are going to kill them. >> reporter: that kind of honesty really through us back a little bit. but you know what? we have heard that from both sides in this epic battle. walks the streets now by the fish market and the space needle talking to 49er fans. talking to seahawks fans. everybody here has supreme confidence. take a look. ♪

. >> good evening, i'm ken bastida. >> i'm elizabeth cook.vening at reid- hillview airport in san jose. a twin-engine plane touches down but then something went wrong. let's show you the scene from chopper 5 just a short time ago. these pictures show where the plane came to a screeching halt. it was a normal landing but then the plane skidded off the runway. it came to a rest on a perimeter fence that separates reid-hillview airport from owe sala road. and two people on board walked away from that landing. there was some concern about fuel leaking from the plane. now, about 30 minutes ago, airport crews attached a line to the plane and then pulled it off the fence. a few minutes after that the plane was being towed back to the hangar area. no real visible damage to the plane that we could tell. joining us now for more on what happened, eric peterson is on the line the assistant director of the reid-hillview airport. sir, thank you for joining us this evening. did the plane overshoot the runway or somehow skid off the runway? >> the plane lost

peterson, this is ken bastida. i go back, you know, to the late '80s, early '90s where there were a whole slew of problems with this airport. this is right in the middle of a residential area. it's got streets around it. there have been incidents where aircraft have gone into homes. we're going back a few years, granted. but how has the airport been able to coexist with so many people living around it? well? >> i think the pilot community has been cautious in how they operate out of the airport. >> and by that, what do you mean? >> well, this is not an area that has lots of high risk takers. the people who operate here are cognizant of the fact that we're in the middle of a neighborhood and behave accordingly. >> okay. general aviation airport and a lot of small planes, private own, things like that. just stuck in an area of a lot of homes. is it something that pilots take extra precaution ongoing in and out? >> certainly in my conversations with the pilot community at this location, they do take extra precautions.
