. >> we're joined now by republican congress member ken buck. indicted in four different cases, and the jockeying is under way to set trial dates, all of which will conflict with the republican presidential primaries and caucuses. what's your feeling how distracting trump's legal troubles will be for the republican party writ large? >> well, first of all, i think it's going to be very distracting for the former president because he's got going to be in different locations that aren't heeleding primaries, and i think it's going to be news wrkty whenever he shows up in the courts so he'll get a bump with that. in terms of the debate we saw last week, it's difficult to go after the former president's policies, and it's also one of the things that's talked about the most is not the answers that are given on the stage but the answers that weren't given because the former president wasn't there. >> donald trump keeps dismissing his legal troublings as election interference. you've read the indictments. is that how you see it, or do you think donald tr

. >> i want to bring in colorado republican congressman ken buck into the conversation.essman buck, thank you for joining us tonight. as we were just discussing the trump legal team -- they are pushing for that april 2026 start date for the federal subversion case. and trump clearly wants to push this well past the 2024 election where he is running. but do you think that that is warranted, given what he is being accused of? do voters deserve an answer to the outcome of that case before the election? >> oh, i think voters deserve that. but this prosecution could have been brought earlier also. i think that it is very unlikely that you are going to see these 18 defendants sitting in one courtroom all at the same time. so, you are going to have multiple trial dates. my guess is that some of these removal actions that, for example, mark meadows filed, are going to be granted. so, you are not even going to see all of the defendants in a state court. some of them may remain in state court. but you are going to see multiple jurisdictions, and multiple trial dates. it is a mess.

joining me now is republican congressman and member of the house freedom caucus ken buck of colorado.ticularly in the wake of three other indictments, what stands out to you? do you believe this is a particularly acute threat to the former president on the legal side? >> well, i think all the indictments are -- any time there is an indictment, i think this indictment looks like to a lot of americans piling on. i think that's an issue. the federal indictment is just released a few weeks ago dealt with this same issue. it dealt with not on a state by state basis, but dealt with it as a federal issue. it was a federal election. and the special counsel brought an indictment. this just looks like another indictment that was piling on. it is different in some ways. the co-defendants have been charged in this indictment, so there are 18 co-defendants that will be brought to trial unless they enter into plea agreements, but to me, when we're talking about a former president of the united states has never been indicted before, now we have our fourth indictment that has the same subject matter
