. >> nbc's ken dilanian joins us with the latest on what we know. run through this sequence of events, right? >> you got it right, chris. >> started with a briefing for the members of the intelligence committee and for the president of the united states and the next day, this past friday, where the president apparently, we're told, he was never handed any kind of attachment about his, perhaps, alleged misbehavior by some group pushing this stuff around. nor was he told about it. >> yeah, that's what we understand. he was not orally briefed about it but it was included in material that supported the briefing and this is the compartmented version -- >> given to whom? >> it was given to his transition office. >> okay. >> our understanding. we believe it was also shown to gang of eight, senior leaders in congress, to your point about who may have leaked this beyond the intelligence community. >> why didn't they tell whoever they were leaking it to, cnn, whoever else, why didn't they mention this was under a heading of disinformation? not as intelligence

. >> ken dilanian, thank you for joining me. i want to bring in andrea mitchell, nbc news chief foreign affairs correspondent. andrea, this is hard to know what to do with. on one level we're dealing with what are unsubstantiated allegations but at the same time they have been included by the highest levels of the u.s. intelligence community in an official classified report which would seem to give some kind of imp impramatur or credible. >> it's unverified raw intelligence. it's very controversial and damaging stuff potentially but no one knows if these underlying charges are true. yes i can understand why they wanted to include in the the report. for one thing they wanted to show that the russians were, according to the best intelligence, gathering information on both donald trump and hillary clinton, on both republicans and democrats but only leaked the information about hillary clinton. so that shows the motive. that shows what they were up to according to the u.s. intelligence report that they are standing by and testified

. >> all right, thank you, ken dilanian. julie pace you asked a question about health care.et anything in there yesterday. what did you get? >> i asked the president-elect about obamacare. i was trying to get specific about what his time line is for not just repeal, but also replace. he wants to do these simultaneously and this is really difficult if this is the time line he is giving congressional republicans. the complexity of unraveling the current law and replacing with it something else given out he has not seen what is in a replacement pack. if he is talking about something in a matter of weeks, having a totally new law that is a steep climb for a congressional republicans and some of them were actually hoping he was going to be able to give them a bit more distance, which may be where he has to end up on this. gens ju >> i think mike pence made the time line much longer and makes a lot of sense. but, you know, over the past weeks, john heilemann, you've had not only donald trump but even paul ryan say we are going to repeal only when we have replacement there. another
