, director of the national hurricane center. >>> ken graham, welcome back to the news hour. so please giver us the latest information you havhe track of this storm. >> yes, the latest information that we have is justhis very large storm, somewhat disorganized, but at te time, strengthening through the afternoon. so 65 mile-an-hour winds and just an expansive syste covering much of the gulf of mexico. a very similar track that we've been talking about for the last couple of days, slow movement. so just a lot of tropical storm force winds well outside thend cone big rain event. whether it becomes a hurricanes or a totropicalrm, that is just a few miles an hour. got to prepare for the rairchlt and storm surge. >> woodruff: you mentioned several times the swness of it. why does that add to your worry so much? >> slow is our them sis. slow moving storms compound the issues. the slower the storm the more chance there is to dump a lot of that rainfall about the slower nceainfall, the more ch the storm to pushes rain into those bayou survetion. ou s. en the winds saturate the soil,

charles: ken graham, thank you very much, we appreciate it. >> you bet.ouisiana and rob schmidt in the middle of hurricane barry. rob. >> hey, charles, yeah, it's a hurricane now certainly feels like it. we're getting spanked here in morgan city. the wind has gotten a lot stronger. the last time we were able to check we were getting gusts about 55. this has got to be at least 20 miles per hour faster than that in the gust department. i'm not sure if we're feeling sustained hurricane force winds, but hurricane gusts, but the sustained wind is pretty heart. the rain hurts the side of your face the first time it's been painful all day if i jump up, i'd probably end up in the water here. you can see the boats are docked here keeping them here and hoping everything will be okay and confident it will be if this is all the worse it gets. it's close to landfall, and the wind makes for the most interesting stuff to watch on television and there's a good one. this is really going to be a water event. when the water comes in, and we see how high these rivers swell,

with me, ken graham, the director of the national hurricane center in miami. what are your expectations here? every hurricane is unpredictable. you can only expect, you know, far off so much. but what is it shaping up to be right now, this hurricane barry? >> i tell you, chad really hit it hard. he's right. look at the water and the moisture that we have with the system. what an unusual look to it. you look in a textbook and see what a hurricane should look like. it's not this. it's hard to tell where the land begins and where the ocean is there. at the same time, it's kind of a large area with some different spins within it so the center is even hard to find at this point. the precipitation doesn't even wrap around the center, 75 mile-an-hour winds, very gusty. this is one of the rain bands we've been advertising for about three days. it looks like the storms are moving fast but the reality is they're moving over the same area. you don't have to be near the center to have problems. 150 miles away you can have some of those flooding rains so a very dangerous s

want to bring in the director of the national hurricane center ken graham.know you've been crunching new data. what's the latest you could tell us about this storm? >> well, the latest information is this. we got the noaa hurricane hunters out there right now trying to find where the center location is, trying to find those winds. then the air force hurricane hunters going as we speak. trying to see where the center is. a big point we have to make, regardless of development, regardless of whether this will become a tropical storm or hurricane, a lot of rain on the way for portions of the gulf coast. >> how much and where? >> this is the problem. look at this rainfall amounts. we've got storm surge. the rainfall amounts could be a large area of 6 to 10 inches. and some of this rainfall could get up to 18 inches of rain. just a lot of rain. not just in that core but the mississippi, alabama coast stretching over to texas, some of these areas could get incredible rainfall amounts. >> now, you personally have been working with communities along the gulf coast to

ken graham from the national hurricane center has been following the path of this storm. a little bit farther west than we initially thought it would. >> yeah, it is interesting when you look at these storms, little wig willigles really did matter. you look at this center in the western part of louisiana, and you know you still have a lot of rain that has to move up from the gulf into southeast louisiana around the new orleans metropolitan area. but the rain bands, items bee's amazing to watch. some of the heaviest has been as far able as mobile, alabama where you have seen flooding and also tornadoes. >> i know we were talking about how this would be a storm that would be with us for several days. and the path does show that it is slowly meandering north at 6 miles per hour. is that like the worst case scenario for many people right now. >> it really is. slow and large is our nemesis. if you think about it, it just keeps the hazards, all the rain longer. and if you think about it, these are forecast points, these small dots. and closer those are together, the slower the m

we continue to track hurricane barry, we bring in the director of the national hurricane center, ken grahamit. not sure the last time you slept. you probably got another day or two on this, in the next -- as the storm comes ashore. help us understand where really the risks are for this flooding. 75-mile-an-hour wind is not going to be the big one, the flooding could be. >> yeah, you know, you really look at it, you look at historically, the last three years, for example, 83% of the fatalities in the tropical systems has been from inland flooding and over half in cars. that's why we're talking about the rain and flooding so much. if you look at a textbook copy of a hurricane, that's not what they look like. the winds are there. look at the rain moving into southeast louisiana. look at the rain bands. you know the rain bands over the mississippi coast and mobile have been sitting there for almost all day long. that's going to be a big impact with time. leland: talk about how much time, because it's so easy in these early hours, as quote, unquote, the storm has come ashore, you look at the liv

ken sho. the stock ends up rebounding three months later by about 1% could this cause earnings miss, make it a buying opportunity for the year ahead let's bring in michael grahamnd victor anthony from cgs capital. you're bearish you think it's time to take profits? >> i do. i think a set of red flags was raised in the second quarter results that i think will keep this stock range bound over the next several quarters. this is the third consecutive quarter that netflix has guided below consensus on a domestic sub-numbers. that means there's dynamics -- change in dynamics that the management team doesn't really have a handle on that's one number two, the aggressive price increases, that led to churn in the quarter. even with the latest price increases, there's price empower in the model cfo recently stated he saw a $25 price in nirvana i think that will be harder to achieve longer term. we have reason to believe that netflix not a hit-driven business guess what, it is a hit-driven business and like every other hit-driven entertainment business, i think investors should start evaluating netflix based upon that and so that has changed, i think, in the quarter. and
