ken. well, ken, let's look at your, i'd like to hear your overall assessment uh of the situation, because even today was day 10, we still see the resistance actually inflicting damage up on the israeli regime, even clearing out the caneset as uh missiles uh uh were fired in that direction, and the cirons went off. i mean, your overall take on that side of things and and what the resistance. have been able to do? the resistance uh should be supported uh and it's impressive the uh the man that they managed to put israel its back foot for so long because israel vastly uh vastly outrages uh the the capacity of the resistance in the in the surround. areas so uh from our part uh we support the resistance uh against israel's genocidal attack on gaza and we had demonstration in hamilton ontario yesterday of 2000 participants uh we we had the mar we had rally at city hall and we marched around the downtown core uh also there are a number of initiatives here in canada uh to try and hold the trudo government to account the trudo government has failed miserably as to hold israel to account and to try and prevent and denounce israel's attack on gaza, israel's declar declaration of war on gaza, and israel's siege of gaza, we yesterday demonstrated for uh, to live up to its role as a high consenting partner in the fourth. geneva convention and to speak up on behalf of the besieged people of gaza uh in their desperate attempt uh to avoid being massacred. we also spoke about canada as a un member, which has not lived up to its duty uh to enforce its own stated position on on uh the uh situation in palestine in general, the illegal settlements on the west bank, and the uh and as well the uh occupation of gaza and the the growing attack, generacidal attack. back on gaza, canada is on record for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in palestine, which includes lifting the bloccade of gaza, removing the illegal settlements, the creation of a palestinian state equal in every respect to that of israel, and having its capital in jerusalem, the return of all the refugees, canada is on record supporting all these things, but the trudo government and the harper government before it absolutely dropped the ball on these things and every time that there was a crisis in palestine, the uh trudo government, the trudo government uh went ahead and came down as a partisan country uh on the side of israel, this is shameful and canadians are upset about it, and there's demonstrations every day in canada uh in support of the palestinians, big ones in toronto and missosaga and now in hamilton. well let's talk about those demonstrations and the activists um uh have you seen any blowback uh from the government because what we're hearing from various activists in various parts of the world um is that because their governments are so pro israeli that they're trying to put pressure on activists who actually just want to um peacefully protest in support of the palestinians i'm not sure if you guys there in in canada are experience in anything but uh talk about it, tell me what's the overall field there when activists uh pro-palestinian take to the street? well we we had good cooperation from the hamilton police service yesterday, but uh, there was demonstration inside the new democratic party convention, that's a social democratic party in canada, and the demonstrators were tackled by police, um, and uh, there was talk of one of... them being charged with assaulting security guard. they also seized our banner which said, which says, um, lift the siege of gaza. i was able to rescue the banner and we used it in the demonstration yesterday, but that's one indication that the uh, that there is increasing repression against palestinians in canada. we've had reports of school children, being disciplined for speaking up about palestine and. school and we've heard that uh uh people have had their uh have have had their uh accounts closed because of what they posted on facebook and twitter here in canada so and on youtube so um yes there is uh there is some blowback it's not as bad as it is in france for example but uh so far uh people are still demonstrating uh despite these uh the this blow back there is a going to be uh demonstration at the uh meeting today in uh ottawa of the center for israel and jewish affairs which has invited number of speakers who are all genocidal uh calling for or the uh crushing of the gazons in uh in in palestine and uh people are are still out uh demonstrating today so uh so far uh not so far some blow back, but people are still demonstrating in defiance anyway, and what do you think ken? we have uh actually some uh more recent news now that the united states has decided to send 2,000 troops uh to the region to support the israeli regime. uh, this is a great grave error on their part, uh, the us, canada, the eu you they are all responsible for this uh massacre that's taking place in gaza because for years they have enabled every israeli war crime to take place, there has been no consequence for israel and in fact israel acts as a pit bull for the for the us in the middle east attacking all of its neighbors overflying libya attacking syria repeatedly attack at this um attacked the aleppo and the damascus airports just the other day, so um, by bringing troops and by bringing warships in into into the... mediterranean, the us is upping the anti here, it's showing that it's siding with the state of israel as usual, and so it is not only being partisan instead of being even handed and calling for the the comprehensive peace agreement, that even the us is on record for, the

ken gray. ken, thank you very much for being back with us. you heard rob there with those details. he was driving up from boston overnight seeing cop cars, law enforcement coming from all over the region. can you help us understand what they are all doing, what they are looking for right now? >> absolutely. so in a situation like this, what happens is you set up what is called a unified command. unified command means that there is representatives in there from law enforcement agencies, from the lewiston police, from the sheriff's office, from the state police, from the fbi, from the atf, all of these different law enforcement agencies and also first responders are in there providing investigators, providing personnel to conduct the manhunt. and so there is a lot of coordination going on here to try to find mr. card and to try to arrest mr. card. here is the thing though. card is what is considered to be a pseudo command dough. that is the terminology for mass shooters. they often use military style weapons. and pseudo commandos often end up in a suicide by police type situation where they want to encounter law enforcement, they want to end their life with a shoot-out with police. so this is a very dangerous situation. not only for the people of lewiston, but also for law enforcement in their search for him. he is still very dangerous, he is still armed. and should be considered very dangerous. >> yeah, ken, can you talk a little bit about the differences in the training that this man would have had? i mean, we shoulduld underscore is a u.s. army reservist, a firearms instructor and tactical use of firearms. that kind of training and knowledge is not something typically given to local law enforcement that may find themselves in encounters with help. >> you right. i was a tablctical instructor f the fbi and a person that goes through training will be very proficient with their weapon, they will be able to be able to deal with the tactical situation and that makes it doubly dangerous for law enforcement because not only are they trying to track him down, but then they have to also deal with the person that may have equal or better training, better firepower than the officers that will be encountering mr. card when they find him. >> so, ken, we're set to hear at 10:30 this morning from the maine state police. that is obviously just about five hours from now. this community will be kind of w

ken buck? ken buck is supporting this gaetz. speaking of liz cheney she reportedly called dan goldman after one of his tv hits to tell him that he and the democrats should take mccarthy out. joining me now victor davis hanson, senior fellow at the hoar institution. charlie hurt opinion editor at the "washington times" fox news contributor. chearlg, to you, i think to people watching at home they don't understand the ins and outs of this but they are hard pressed to understand how this gets republicans republicans to the type of majority they need next year to effectuate change. >> i think it was completely incoherent. republicans only control by a very thin margin one half of 1/3 of government. that one half of one third has been pretty successful in marshaling what resources they have to slow down this progressive revolution. then right in the middle of this when we are looking at impeachment. all these serious issues, just to get rid of the speaker without any plan condition continue again genesee to replace him feeds into the narrative that the republicans can't govern. while you do that, i don't know. more importantly gates argument too friendly with democrats. he used democrats to oust mccarthy. so hypocritical and contradictory and counter productive at a time when the republicans have no margin of error and they need to unite in every aspect of that word. here they are committing suicide. it doesn't make any sense. >> laura: charlie, this is at a time where republicans have an historic advantage on which party is better at handling the economy. i mean, going back to 191. they had the biggest lead on the most important issue facing americans and now the attention is drawn to capitol hill and the fact that the republicans are so incapable of governing they lost a speaker in what, you know, hasn't really happened before in this way. your reaction tonight? >> and the most devastating question for matt gaetz today, just as it was eight months ago is, okay, what's the alternative? and he doesn't seem to be able to give you an alternative, and the alternative he offers have people that don't want to have anything to do with it. i do think that, you know, you can -- you know, we have known we were going to have a calamity since the day speaker mccarthy got elected speaker after 15 rounds. we knew it was going to eventually come to this. it was going to come to a government shutdown. the criticism, i would have of kevin mccarthy is, that he hasn't gone on ahead from the beginning and laid the ground work make this catastrophe we are seeing today about something. say a government shutdown because democrats refuse to enforce the border or a government shutdown because democrats refused to stop inflationary spending. all of which american people would understand. so it's kind of a marketing thing that i would criticize kevin mccarthy for. but, honestly, when you look at what happened today, the same criticism you could level against matt gaetz because nobody knows what this is about. i think that a lot of underlying issues are important. and i agree with matt gaetz about it. but you can't beat something with nothing. and right now, matt gaetz has nothing. >> laura: reminds me of the green eggs and ham speech that ted cruz gave to try to get rid of obamacare. it was kind of a fun speech. it was fun filibuster but it didn't get to the point that they wanted. didn't achieve the goal. victor and charlie stay with us. we have a fox news alert about what just happened inside the republican conference meeting. joining me now fox chad pergram live from capitol hill. chad, what you are hearing tonight. >> we just confirmed that kevin mccarthy indicated to colleagues that he will not run again for speaker of the house. that's his message tonight. he is going to talk publicly here at the capitol around 7:30 eastern time tonight. and the reason here, it seems that kevin mccarthy was just never going to be able to get the votes. i talked to him, interviewed him twice in the halls on two different occasions today. and he kept reiterating to me the same thing that he said over and over again. i never give up. never give up. and i asked him at one point, right before he went in for the vote to -- that was the first procedural vote, to kind of tee up this vote to oust him as speaker, i said if you lose tonight, will you run again? and he was completely silent. he kind of shook his head and walked off. that was the end of the interview. this was live on fox earlier today. and i think that was rather telling. you know, he forecast this, even though he said he would be the speaker of the house still tonight, he said that if he lost five votes on his side of the aisle, you hear me say it all the time. it's always about the math, that he would not be speaker. he said that this morning. he will talk at 7:30. it's unclear at this point if his name might be placed in nomination. again, you don't have to be a member to be speaker. now, we don't know if he is going to resign from his seat, necessarily. we want to be very careful about this. keep in mind that nancy pelosi is still a member of congress. and she stepped down from her speakership when democrats lost the majority last fall. so, you can continue to serve in the body as a member. we don't know what kevin mccarthy's plans are. he won't be speaker of the house. we don't know if there will be an effort to draft him. it is hard to see with the physics of the house how he gets to the magic number how he has the votes to continue or be reelected as speaker of the house. this is such an historic day here at the capitol. the fact that we have never had a speaker ousted. compared a lot to what happens in europe in parliamentary systems where you have a no confidence vote for a prime minister or something like that. we have never had this in the middle of a congress except when speakers have either passed away which happened back in the 1930s or speaker resigned it happened twice in the past 30 years. you obviously had jim wright who was the speaker of the house in the late 1980s and he resigned and also john boehner stepped down both for very different reasons there kevin mccarthy will speak tonight. laura, it's going to be very hard to see just how long it takes the house, and i will say the house, not republicans, but, perhaps, a coalition of democrats and republicans or whatever this mixture looks like to get together to elect a speaker. here -- >> laura: chad, apparently they just said patrick mchenry, congressman mchenry said they anticipate the meeting to conduct the vote will take place on tuesday of next week. they are setting the pre-meetings and then the ultimate vote on tuesday. so, they don't have a lot of time here. >> yeah. they don't. and, also, it means that we go without a speaker. he is acting as the speaker pro tem. this is a continuity of government function that was put in place after 9/11 that you have somebody who kind of is administratively the speaker pro tem. they are not actually the speaker and that's what patrick mchenry is. it's pretty clear to me that they were not going to re-vote tonight. the house can't do anything until it elects a speaker. you can't put something on the floor, a bill. say to fund the government or honor a girl scout troop. committees are still in order. and, you know, jim jordan and others indicate oh, we are still going to forge ahead with our impeachment inquiry. but at some point might have you people even on the republican side of the aisle say you're focused on impeachment and we can't even elect a speaker and barely keep the government open? what are you doing? some moderates might blame them for that so, because they are not getting direction from the speaker. keep in mind that the speaker is the first person mentioned in the constitution. they are the constitutional officer of this branch of government. and the house cannot function at least on the floor without a speaker. and this gets into national security issues. there is a reason why. >> laura: third in line to the presidency. >> patrick mchenry i should note if he is the speaker pro tem he is the president and vice president it would not go to him further down the line because we don't have speaker. this is why there are concern about national security issues. >> laura: this just doesn't look good all the way around. chad, great to see you. thank you so much for the update. >> thank you. >> laura: remember, former speaker mccarthy is going to speak at 7:30 tonight. go back to our panel victor davis hanson. charlie hurt. victor, you just heard per gram's update there. so right now we have things flying around social media where congressman troy nehls, district 22 from texas. is he proposing that donald trump become speaker of the house. i don't know how serious that might be. but, that's where he is coming from. so, i guess anything is possible. what is your sense here? >> i think right now they don't need more chaos. they just need a return to their majority. what we are witnessing is a slow motion surrender of their majority advantages. so all that work in the midterms. all that razor thin effort to get a majority to stop this progressive agenda, they just surrendered it from what we can hear they are going to keep surrendering it and be consulted by lynne cheney and the democrats. if they're really worried about physical sobriety, in 2001, they came into office with a republican president and a republican senate and a republican house and they did not balance a budget. they ran up one of the biggest deficits in history. they did the same thing in 2017. they had a senate, they had a house, they had a president, and they ran up big deficits. so, what they need to do is agree this time to get a majority in the senate and the house and the white house and break with their tradition and actually show some fiscal responsibility rather than all these antics by, you know, giving up what little power they have. >> laura: well, charlie, i think the main argument that republicans have in november of next year is we know how to run things. biden is the agent of chaos and all the people pulling his strings. look at the chaos on the border. look at the chaos on the economy. real median wages are going down. crime is going up. so they are the chaos party. does this detract from that or is this just a temporary blip, perhaps, given that they are pushing steve scalise who is kind of really people like him' in general. i think people have a lot of respect for steve scalise. they are pushing him to take over as speaker. >> honestly, laura, i think this will end up being sort of an irrelevant thing in the big picture when voters go to the polls next year. i don't think -- we get obviously for important reasons, we follow this stuff very closely. we -- but it's a little bit like government shutdowns. when you go back through the history of government shutdowns, every one of which republicans get blamed for and you look at the election after the government shutdown, in which republicans get blamed, you find that republicans don't do that badly or in many cases in most cases actually pick up seats after they have been blamed for a government shutdown. voters don't care about this stuff that much. they are far more concerned about the invasion at the border. they are far more concerned about gas prices and inflation and all of the things that make their lives personally more miserable. and this is kind of a side show. but i do agree with you that it is, you know, bringing sanity to washington. if that's your calling card, and that has to be republicans' calling card, this sort of undermines all that. but i don't think that it ends up doing lasting damage if republicans wind up rallying around somebody who is able to bring regular order and i have to say that this issue and you and i have talked about this before. this issue of single issue legislation, and regular order for appropriations bills, the most important thing that this -- that a congress can get back to doing. >> laura: they should campaign on that, victor, back to the point that you and i made on my podcast yesterday, this idea that you can't act like you have a super majority when you have the thinnest of thin majorities. so, i mean, it's unfortunate. wish you had a bigger majority but you don't. you have senators who are frankly on the republican side working against a lot of the core views of the republican base. so you not only don't have a big majority in the house. you have senators who are working against you. so, that's what any new speaker is facing victor. that means they do have to compromise sometimes as much as people don't like to compromise. that's just the way of the world. >> this idea that you have to be perfect ideologically to do good is crazy. more importantly, i think charlie needs to know that it's damaging the whole congress. we have a guy pulling a fire alarm. we have a why dressed as a slob in the senate. this just contributes incrementally and insidiously to this notion that congress is either irrelevant or mall vent. and i don't think the republicans want to be an agent of that what they need to do unite and either reelect mccarthy or get somebody quickly as speaker and use what little power they have to stop this progressive revolution this at the can't do that they are committing suicide. they are not helping their constituencies when they do these antics. >> laura: kevin mccarthy says he will not run again as speaker and we will cover it live here on the angle when he speaks in a few moments. because he says he doesn't want it does it mean that he definitely wouldn't be renominated if there wasn't some deal cut maybe there some deal to be cut with gaetz? i don't know. gaetz says no way it's never going going to be him what if it's someone gaetz dislikes even more got to give him all the authority here. >> i would imagine the population. after the ball today the ball was very much in kevin mccarthy's court. the only question was what was he going to do? because if he wanted to fight this and fight it fight it as vociferously as matte gates fought it. we could fight it for am rounds as mccarthy had the fortitude and desire to stick with it and it would have gone on perhaps forever. but the pool of other candidates, potential candidates, patrick mchenry is one. i think, obviously, steve scalise is one. but what i think is kind of interesting, what if you wound up with a jim jordan? and we saw in that massive round of voting last time that a guy like jim jordan actually got a lot more votes than, you know, you would have dreamed that he would have gotten, say, eight years ago when he was a back bencher rebel rouser. well, he still sort of a back bench rebel rouser he has a lot of control. thanks to mccarthy, he has lots of control in this congress. he has managed to impress a lot of his colleagues. so a lot of his colleagues that despised him say 10 years ago, like him a whole lot more now. and so democrats could have sort of helped oust mccarthy and then wind up with a speaker that they like even less. >> laura: yes. really quickly, victor, that is a possibility, right? i mean, they are telling me i have to go. >> yes. >> laura: hold on. >> you have a moment of power that everybody has been waiting for and what do they do? they completely implode and now we are discussing this candidate a, b, and c when we have all these existential challenges that they should be addressing 1, 2, 3, quick. and they act is as if they have super majorities in both of houses. >> laura: victor, charlie, we have got to go because congressman gaetz is going to join us in a moment. i guess he has been watching. one of the stories obscured today was the president's son spending his day in court. the president's son pleading not guilty to federal gun charges. but his legal team is already talking about filing a motion to dismiss. fox's david spunt is live from wilmington, delaware with all the details. david, we can't let this story go away tonight. >> yeah, laura. this was a quick in and out for hunter biden today but still a big story. the arraignment lasted less than 30 minutes here at federal court in wilmington, delaware. if he does not abide by these release conditions, i will list some of them in just a moment, he could face some serious consequences, is he out free tonight pending trial. he pleaded not guilty to three felony counts surrounding his ownership of a gunfire years ago back in 2018. inside the courtroom he sat just feet away from attorneys representing special counsel david weiss, the man who in july, just a few months ago, was ready to cut a plea deal with hunter. that deal fell apart, now weiss wants to put hunter biden in prison. potentially up to 25 years. unlikely given no prior felonies. his conditions of release include that he must seek employment, communicate all international travel plans. he can't have a gun. he can't use alcohol or drugs. his medication must be prescribed. he must get drug tested randomly and must participate in substance abuse counseling. now, his lawyer says the doj caved to political pressure from donald trump and republicans. the probe has sparkedout rage from critics saying hunter has received preferential treatment as he sat in court back in washington, d.c. u.s. attorney matthew graves was on capitol hill for a transcribed interview about his alleged involvement in the five year investigation. house republicans, including judiciary chairman jim jordan believe that graves blocked david weiss from initially charging the younger biden. weiss has repeatedly denied that anybody has told him what to do. he said he has been in charge of this from the beginning. hunter biden's attorney, laura, abbe lowell says he wants to seek a motion to dismiss this entire case. you can't forget those potential tax charges looming. special counsel david weiss said those tax charges that were part of that plea deal that fell apart could be refiled in either washington, d.c. or southern california where hunter biden currently lives, laura. >> laura: unreal. david, thank you so much. all right, matt gaetz will join us now in moments. plus, kevin mccarthy addresses his ouster live. it's a wild night. ah, these bills are crazy. she has no idea she's sitting on a goldmine. well she doesn't know that if she owns a life insurance policy of $100,000 or more she can sell all or part of it to coventry for cash. even a term policy. even a term policy? even a term policy! find out if you're sitting on a goldmine. call coventry direct today at the number on your screen, or visit coventrydirect.com. from chrome to duckduckgo. duckduckgo is a browser you download to your mobile and desktop devices. unlike chrome, the duckduckgo browser has privacy built-in. it comes with a private alternative to google search, which doesn■t spy on your searches, and it blocks cookies and creepy ads. and there's no catch. it's free. we make money from ads, but they don't follow you around. join the millions of people taking back their privacy by downloading duckduckgo on mobile and desktop today. >> laura: now the man though led the ouster to kevin mccarthy matt gaetz joins me live. congressman, i want to get to the chief criticism by some of your g.o.p. colleagues that we have been covering in the angle made the point that it took your aligning with democrats, and even pals of liz cheney and the republican party like kenk to produce a result that as of now has no solution. is what's your response to that. >> the solution is quite easy. we should get to electing a new more conservative, more trustworthy speaker immediately. and i'm calling on patrick mchenry who currently is the speaker pro tem to reconsider the decision that he just made to send everyone in congress home for a week. this is not the time to go home for a week. we should stay and elect a new speaker. that's the path ahead. as far as the criticism that i worked with democrats, the yellow brick road of working with democrats was paved by kevin mccarthy. whether it was the debt limit deal, whether it was the continuing rest lewises. this is a guy who was willing to partner with conservatives on the frivolous. >> laura: right. >> whenever there was a spending matter he partnered with democrats. that said, speaker mccarthy's time is over. i wish him well. i have no animus with him and i hope he finds fruitful pass temperatures i'm sure he wi

ken chesebro trial just about to get under way. we reached out to one of the counsels for ken chesebro, he said he has no comment right now, he's still working right now to try and process this news, process this development. so, that indicates he also was caught off guard by this guilty plea today, guys? >> blayne alexander, thank you for being with us. and on the phone, katie phang, msnbc legal contributor and host of the katie phang show and former federal prosecutor barbara mcquaid, also an msnbc legal analyst. >> and barbara, i want to know, what could this now potentially mean for the other co-defendants in this case? >> i think this is a really significant development. you know, prosecutors often talk about it as the dominos falling. sometimes one pleading defendant can cause others to re-evaluate theirtion so we had the defendant earlier, scott hall, who entered a guilty plea, lower level offender, buto doubt had some influence on sidney powell's decision to guilty today. right up until the last minute. but i think that kenneth chesebro has to think about it and everyone else involved in this case now knows that in addition to all of the evidence, that fani willis had against them, which was sufficient to find probable cause, now they're going to have sidney powell, an insider, a really crucial insider, serving as a narrator for all of this stuff. certainly they have to corroborate everything she has to say. but this can be a really powerful event that can cause more of those dominos to fall. >> katie phang, i'm wonder bhag what your reaction to this is. a surprise for many. how significant is this? >> well, guys, if you think about it, scott hall, who took a plea a few weeks ago, he actually took a plea concerning his activiies with the breach of the election equipment in coffee county which directly implicated sidney powell. so it islet like a domino effect if you will. scott hall pleads guilty, implicates sidney powell, sidney powell pleads guilty and it is pretty surprising that only because these things happen a lot of times at the 11th hour, as barb knows, as a prosecutor, what is fascinating is that less than 48 hours ago, her lawyer is fighting in court tooth and nail to make sure that, you know, her case gets dismissed, et cetera. the thing about sidney powell that people need to remember is this. six years of probation sounds pretty lax considering your attempt to overturn an election, right? but she was the lawyer for donald trump. she was the lawyer for the trump campaign. donald trump notoriously does not use text or emails, doesn't use thi writing. so it is the communications between her and donald trump that are really kind of working your way up proverbial food chain when it comes to flipping lower level defendants and tryi get to the king at the top, which everybody would concede is donald trump. so sidney powell, we skipped a few rungs on that ladder. we skipped some significant rungs to get a guilty plea from her and that special condition of her probation is testifying truthfully when the state of georgia needs you, and if you violate that term, even though she got the probation, she could be looking at a probation violation. >> do you think, katie this throws off the schedule for kenneth chesebro at all since they were supposed to be tried together? >> that's a great question. i reached out to scott grubman, the lawyer for kenneth chesebro who blayne alexander accurately said was taken aback and caught off guard by what happened with this guilty plea. the question that i have not received an answer to yet is will this change your strategy when it comes to mr. chesebro for monday? will you withdraw that speedy demand and decide whether or not you want to re-evaluate it? sidney powell may have incriminating information about ke chebro who we know has beenled the architect of the plans to overturn the election and so now you haveenth chesebro who was a law f trump and the trump mpaign, himself, but sidney powell will ke be called by the state of georgia in that trial if he decides to go on monday. >> barbara, do you think what is happening here in this georgia case could have some significance to special counsel jack smith's investigation? >> i do. to the extent that they now might have access to sidney powell as a potential witness, it could be very valuable. in the federal case, jack smith was very narrow in his focus and charged only donald trump in that case. he does, though, talk about other co-conspirators and one of them is most certainly sidney powell because of the description where even donald trump referred to her as having some crazy theories and that matches up with information we have about sidney powell. and so if she testifies in this case, then she could also be compelled perhaps to testify in the other case. if she wants to wave any immunity she may have there, and i think testimony in this case will likely open up those floodgates. so she could see that happen because she still faces some criminal exposure in the federal case. just because she hasn't been charged there doesn't mean she won't be charged there. so i think it could open the doors to more testimony against donald trump in that federal case as well. >> and what i'm noticing here in this plea deal, again, no jail time, that's what she was able to work out. just six years of probation, $6,000 fine, $2700 in restitution to the state of georgia, and also an apology letter, katie, to the citizens of georgia. what stands out most to you? >> those terms are consistent with what scott hall got for his plea, except scott hall got a little bit less probation time. that letter of apology makes sense if you think about it. there are victims to the crimes that have been alleged in this indictment against the 19 co-defendants that fani willis is prosecuting. those victims more specifically the residents, the citizens of this state of georgia, cnghe fact that they werepting to take away the lawful votes that they placed f now president joe biden in the 2020 election. so that letter of apology makes sense. but also, ana, there is a record of proffer that is a special condition that is already provided to the state. i want you to think for a second about the timing of all this. you got her lawyer, sidney powell's lawyers in court on monday fighting tooth and nail to get the charges dismissed. between monday and today, sidney powell provided a recorded proffer and a letter apology and hammered out the details of a probationary plea, guilty to six counts. so there has been a lot of things going on behind the scenes. do underestimate prosecutors and what they're able to do while they also prep for trial. >> and what is the tru camp >> i think thi is very alarming news for the trump camp. you know, united they stand, divided they fall. but so often i have seen this, jose, there just is no honor among thieves when you conspire with people who are willing to lie and cheat, they are not going to be loyal to you in the end. and so i think that it is alarming for donald trump because sidney powell, among all of the things she's accused of doing, i think most crucially was present for the december 18th meeting in 2020 where they were in the oval office and a number of people were there, talking about appointing her to be special counsel, talking about using the military to seize voting machines, that information can be incredibly valuable and so donald trump has to be very concerned. and then, again, because of that domino effect, if sidney powell has gone and provided t prover, now there is additional evidence against a of the other defendants and which dominos are going to fall next. i think donald trump has to b alarmed, not only about sidney powell, but what this portends for other potential cooperators. >> i also wonder as we were showing the images inside that courtroom, because everything in georgia is going to be on camera, you know, the d.a. had argued that they wanted to try everybody together in this case, in part because they didn't want to really show their hand to other defendants, right? if they were going to have to go through this trial, coming up with sidney powell and ken chesebro, they still might, because ken chesebro is still scheduled to start his trial, but this must help as a prosecutor to be able to keep your cards closer to your vest at this stage, no? >> well, i think with regard to kenneth chesebro he is still out there and still has exercised his right to a speedy trial and may want to have this trial next week. although as katie pointed out, it may be that he really needs to re-evaluate his defense and needs more time to get his ducks in a row now that we have this new development that has to be very shocking to him. but, yeah, i can imagine, if you're a prosecutor, you want one shot at this. you want one trial. because if you have to try the case multiple times, the other side gets to see the case, every witness has to testify again, and whenever witness testifies more than once, they are bound to have some inconsistencies in minor and irrelevant details, all of us do. it was a cloudy day, it was a sunny day, whatever it is. even though th

district 10 all the down to the bridge, which they tried to cut us off but that is still our area, always has been and always will be:i want to give dittos to workforce project. they have done a tremendous job. i like the idea of them bringing on [indiscernible] one of our new institutes in the community and getting people training and what have you. but one of the problems i do have, one of the first programs that started was young community developers in training and what have you. we started that back in the 70's with the model city program which i was a commissioner at that time, and i do not see them no where on this list and i have problems with that. when you don't put the young community developers in something, i have a problem with that. we were the first training program prior to that we had man power which was mr. day since passed who brought the unions into bayview hunter point and district 10 at that particular time. it wasn't district 10, but that whole area . i do want them to get the recognition they deserve. the other problem is every scapegoat around the electricals. i like the idea of them having architects and what have you, but the electricals -electricians i have a problem with that. they are one of the most to me laziest unions because they don't do that much. they sit around and wait for everybody else to do something and just string wires, but we need our peoples on there. peoples from district 10, african american communities, and other races to be in that union and i really have a problem when you come up and you talk about all these other unions and what have you and don't talk about the electricians. with that, city build, get on them because i will be on you. thank you very much. >> i like to call the next card. abduli. >> hi. i guess i have-i can move this up. good afternoon. i am a educator at jcyc and past ocii participant in 2021 so i want to give insight what it was like to work as a ocii participant from our point of view. i had the liberty [indiscernible] landscape architectural which is drastically different from the study. i'm a student at city college where i study architecture, graphic design and [indiscernible] different design things and just what you are going through in the school is different then what you are going to be exposed to in the real world. we are not necessarily always talking about budget and talking about coming into city hall to ask for support on projects so that exposure is incredibly important for somebody who might not be used to it before they get into the industry. not to mention that the ocii program did give two pillars of support from the firm. still connected to designers and architects where i had career development to prepare through portfolio, resume and communication skills within the industry. and the competitive pay was real y important for internship because i had to take time off work to see if this was something that was for me and usually for somebody like me or any other black or brown individuals or just people under-resourced might not be azeezy for them to take a leap a faith to do the transition to different industry. indesign industry isn't a easy industry to break into, especially for internship and somebody going to city college. we are not matched up from people maybe coming from bigger universities. i did decline admission to berkeley master program and cca master program because i knew i would not have the resources to be able to go into those programs and survive in the real world. i had to declined mission because i didn't think it was the safest bet. because i decide to stay at city college, it doesn't mean i'm less or anyone else less deserving or qualified to get into these positions to be able to provide their services within the internships and develop, and levels the playing field because they have it resources or training or statue or name behind you to get into these firms or into these internships. just wanted to highlight usually all people need is a chance and somebody to believe them and the support to go behind that in order to know they can be competitive in their industry and that is what ocii provides for their program participants. thank you. >> thank you. can i get the next speaker, please? >> good morning. my name is dawn and i am a jcyc graduate internship. a city college-taking associate right now in city college. i also attend city build, five years experience and what this program has done for me was, it was amazing. they actually jcyc linked me with in a amazing program with workshops understanding individuals, taking time out, understanding myself, be comfortable in a room and also hooked me up with a amazing job, which i'm working safety security right now. i want to talk about city build, the program that they do have. you guys are super amazing. if it wasn't for city build i wouldn't be in the internship department now. i was a good experience. they paid for my tools, my membership, for the union, i got training and on top of that i end up--now i can--feel it was taking over. i want to make sure i do want to give big props to jcyc taking the one on stop when i stepped into the internship. when i walked into the internship it was a career fair at city college and i met marie awith a smile and she welcomed me in and maria was the reason i stepped into bgi. she told one of the vp that i have a perfect match for you. from there it was on. i have been doing non-stop work with bgi, safety coordination and been going beast mode every since. it is amazing program. i'm very honored to be a part of bgi. i'm a very proud individual to be a part of jcyc, ocii , city build, san francisco hats off. thank you so much. >> thank you. >> any questions? >> very good. thank you. >> if we have other speakers here in person, please come up. >> good afternoon. principle with ya studio. not only am i a san francisco native but also got to participate in projects like under ramp park as a small business owner, but also participate in the intern training program which we participating in since 2016, 2017 so had quite a few interns come through our studio and it has been an incredible opportunity. both for us and also i think for the interns, some continue on to design fields, some decide this maybe isn't the right field, both are wonderful conclusion to come from, but i think this program is such a incredible thing. being a san francisco native, seeing the individuals that it serves, we see a lot of resumes on our desk where these people have all the doors open in front of them, but this program really i think excels at providing opportunities for those that don't get a lot of opportunities and i think this program you heard from great speakers earlier today that are great examples of what this program do, so hats off to all we worked with over the years in terms of placing them and couldn't say enough great things about it. the only thing i love to see more is extend to the high schools because i think exposure to the ace industries earlier can only strengthen the pipeline in the bay area and provide incredible opportunities. thank you. >> thank you. any other speakers here in person? for any members who joined by phone, if you like to provide public comment please press star 3 on your mobile devices. madam chair, does not appear we have other members of the public. >> no additionals of the public willing to comment on this item, i will be closing public comment and moving over to my fellow commissioners and questions and concerns. >> no concerns, but just thank you for the presentation. thank you for what you are doing and just hoping that you know, as we listen to the public that there are ways where we [indiscernible] someone isn't knowing enough about the program or feeling not included or access. it is accessible to them. that we would make sure we push even further, because i can say throughout the years, i have just watched many many many graduates and workers move through the program and i'm just so amazingly happy to hear dawn's story, and just such a eloquent young woman, and grateful for what this program has done for her and her family. thank you city build, thank you maria. >> i wanted to start by thanking maria and ken the presentation. ken, congratulations on upcoming leave. wundserful and george in the hall that worked on this incredible program. a couple question under the guise of better better never done. i was wondering if you have any recommendations for areas where we could ease administration to encourage participation or some things your team is looking at doing either on the city build side or on the sbe side. again just to reduce any friction for folks in participating. it seems a lot has been done from the presentation aligning the city oewd program with ocii, but wanted to see if there anything else we can explore to make doing the right thing easy. >> thank you for the question commissioners drew. i do want to actually answer the question that [indiscernible] our program we fund ycd, young community developers that is doing vierance prevention so working with the community which relates to your question. one of the biggest challenge in getting more workers to be qualified for city bui
