paula was married for 48 years to ken minkus and had two wonderful daughters tracy and jill and four grandchildren, leo, evan, carmen and ivy. paula began her career in child care in early 1970s as a parent volunteer at the telegraph hill cooperative nursery school. paula went back to school at night and earned her b.a. from antioch university and her california preschool teaching credential from city college of san francisco. she then became a teacher at telegraph hill nursery school. eventually she cofounded the full day pre-school and after school programs at telegraph hill children center and became the children's center director. this is where paula served this community for over 25 years and this is where i actually met her in the '80s. and through the two decades, over two decades that i knew her, i got to know her pretty well as an advocate for this particular community and for child care worker in general. we would meet week after week to discuss things of how can we bring serve is he to our city, how can we improve the services for preschool and child care and how can we ev
