" there are those who livejoe biden who is on his way back to the white house in the wake of this tragedy who would like to see it much tighter controls surrounding the use and purchase of guns. he's made various efforts in his career as a senator and politician to try to tighten those laws, including most recently by instituting a ban on —— a background check i may say on all guns and so—called kit or ghost guns. that legislation hasn't got the backing of sufficient numbers of congress to pass. indeed we saw all this after the sandy hook massacre when there was a vote, congress was basically called to vote on whether to ban assault weapons and so on. there were about 50 senators who were in favour of that but a handful of democrats believe it or not voted against the legislation and it failed to pass. that was ten years ago. after that then president 0bama called it a shameful day in washington. figs called it a shamefu
